Milestone Posts

I have looked forward to each of my milestone posts. The ones at 30, 100, 300(?), 500, and 1000. But what happens after that? Nothing! I realize that people have only recently starting hitting these larger numbered posts, but shouldn't there be something to celebrate them? Like maybe a silver star next to your name at 5000 posts and a gold star at 10,000. I doubt I'll be reaching these numbers anytime in the near future, but there are some others that are close. I would hate to think there is nothing to look forward to after you get 1000 posts.

I also would love to see all the names get removed.....This is why folks post all the time to get to those goals, like it means something..........They join one day then it is of to the races and next thing ya know there at 500 or more days or a few weeks after joining......

Whispersecret & Wizard, I see the point you are trying to make, but I don't agree. I remember a while back when everyone was complaining about the people that posted too much, that they were only doing it to reach the milestone posts. Well the people that were targeted have surpassed 1000 posts, and I don't see any changes in their posting habits. So I can only surmise that the title wasn't the motivation in the first place.

A question... When you finally reach the level where you can pick your own title do you have to live with that title for all time or can you change it anytime you want? I'm very flakey that way...
