I say thank god the ridiculous archaic imperial system is on its way out. Roll on the beuatiful logic of metricism (<- wouldn't that make a great word?)

You and your heartless logic you green blooded Vulcan. We're human beings, damn it. Human beings.

The few needs of the many outweigh the needs of the many needs of the few who need, something, I forget...

Ha, that's what they told me in grade school. Said we had to learn metrics since our "normal" system was soon to be obsolete. That was in about 1967. :D

We're metric up here ...

I can see for kilometres and kilometres and kilometres ... lol ...

I'd walk a kilometre for a camel ... or no no that's wrong ... I'd walk a kilometre for a hump ... lol ;)

There are certain phrases which just don't work with metric.

I'd walk a million kilometres for one of your smiles.

A crooked kilometre.

A country kilometre.

The hard metres.

They centimetred their way up the slope.

Give him a centimetre and he'll take a kilometre.

You won't get a gram of co-operation from him.

We changed to metric in Oz when I was in grade three. Tragically I still remember how many yards in a mile, ounces in a pound etc etc. Interestingly enough, in certain hobbies such as pig shooting, old imperial measures are still used. The tusks are always reported in inches, never centimetres.

Klick ...

in Canada ... it's weird cause we use metric for some things ... like measuring snow ... lol ... and distance ...

but for people's heights and weights for instance we still use feet/inches and pounds ... it's almost like we are mixed up ... dazed and confused ... lol ...

ahhhhh only in Canada, eh?

but you know what? we call kilometres "klicks" for short ... so i guess one could say:

I can see for klicks and klicks and klicks and klicks ... oh yea ...

Ooohh yea. Wild pig shooting is a big sport in the country. "Goin' piggin'," as they say. We have these ugly mean dogs that are trained to chase the wild boar through the scrub and hang off their tusks till you can shoot them or knife them. Originally enough, the dogs are called Pig Dogs. LOL.
