OK, this thread is set in Middle-Earth, the fantasy world found in the works of JRR Tolkien. Having read the Lord of the Rings would definitely be helpful in order to join this, but I would think it's possible to pick up the needed information as you go along.

Setting
It is the first of august 1330 in the Shire Reckoning, eleven years after the destruction of the One Ring.
King Aragorn Elessar is holding a giant festival in Minas Tirith, to celebrate the returned prosperity of Gondor and Arnor, and to commemorate the downfall of Sauron. Many great heroes are present at this feast:
Samwise Gamgee with his Rose wife, Celeborn of Lorien, Elladan and Elrohir the sons of Elrond, King Eomer of Rohan--well, basically, all the important characters who are still in Middle-Earth at the end of LOTR ;)
While all these distinguished Lords and Ladies are holding a banquet in the White Tower, celebration is also going on everywhere in the streets of the city. Responding to King Aragorn's invitation, people from all corners of the Western World, from lords to peasants, have come to Minas Tirith...and many Dwarves can be seen, even Elves--and for the first time in the history of Gondor, a large group of Hobbits, come all the way from the Shire.
Spirits are high, everywhere people enjoy themselves, be it through drinking, laughing, dancing, or enjoying one of the many women who take this opportunity to gain some gold coins with their bodies (NOTE: I know that this isn't 'Tolkienesque' at all, but if we were to keep the spirit of the books, this wouldn't have a place in the Sexual RP Board)

Your Characters
Choose whomever you wish, a character from anywhere, come to join the celebration--Human, Hobbit, Elf, Dwarf(though that might make it a little difficult to find a partner ;)
You should invent your own characters, those from the books will mainly be played by me in order to get the plot devellopment ready. If you really, desperatly want to play Faramir, Arwen, or another character from the books, I won't stop you of course(Ithink I'll reserve Aragorn though...he's just a little too important.)
A special note on 'magic': the only realy wizards in Tolkien's work were Maiar, a sort of lower Gods(Gandalf was one), and in the Fourth Age all have left Middle-Earth. However, it seems that Elves had at least some kind of magic power. This does not mean that playing an Elf should give you the ability to throw fireballs etc, but you might have minor healing powers, or the ability to amke small, not-too-powerful magic items, etc.
At a suggestion from Kitten Eyes, I also decided to include a new from of...'sex magic'. The exact form under which it appears is differant for each person, and is left to the creativity of the posters who decide to include this in their character. Maybe you can through enchanment perform the ultimative seduction, or slightly enhance a person's sexual feeling, or maybe your magic would be more fixed on the...act...itself. Be creative! I am even ready to accept this in other races, as long as it isn't exaggerated.
As I said, we'll have to change a lot of things anyway.

Where to Start

Just introduce your character in a small scene during the celebration, maybe already meeting some fellow posters...and just let things develop.
Let's hope this is going to be a success!

And now, let's go!
-----------------------------------------------------
Introducing my main character, Elrist son of Halbarad. Having reached his the eighteenth year of his life only a short time ago, his face is quite handsome, especially with his bright green eyes and short brown hair. His mother died at his birth, and his father was slain during the War of the Ring. Since Halbarad had been a kinsman of Aragorn, Elrist has been living with the Kind and Queen of Gondor ever since. He has a passion for old legends, and for foreign people, be they humans, elvies, hobbits or dwarves. He is also a good singer, and many call him a dreamer. Indeed Elrist often drowns in his own thoughts, making him seem somewhat shy.

Elrist sat at a table in one of the city's new inns, the King Returned. Drinking a cup of Dorwinion wine, he observed the merrymaking outside.
The inn was fairly quiet, since most people were on the streets, but some people were drinking and celebrating in here as well. Smiling, Elrist rose and payed the inkeeper. If the latter had known that the person before him was Elrist, the adoptive son of the king, he would never have accepted payment. But Elrist sledom revealed who he was, it often made it difficult to get to know other people.
Getting ready for a mirthful day, Elrist stepped outside into the celebrating streets.

OCC: I would also like to reserve Arwen, but not as my main character.

Meliah, half-elven, mother was one of the Lorien elves, her father, a Rider of Rohan. Blessed with a friendly nature and exquisite singing voice, her love of storytelling has kept her from being an outcast. Taller than most elves, she is still somewhat slight, very pale, silver-blonde hair and ice blue eyes. She has a fairly decent skill at scrying which she finds to be greatly enhance during certain situations.

IC: Much to her delight, the woman who owned The Golden Tree had been more than willing to take her on as a performer as long as she wasn't above helping out at the tavern. With the festival in full swing, they were a little short on help. Not needed until later that evening, Meliah tossed her things into the room she had been given and quickly made her way out into the streets of the city, singing her farewell over her shoulder.

Sael Avari

Sael smelled the sweet honeyed nut fruits that were roasting in the next stand.. he sighed as it reminded him of the last time he was here. He was young and did not know what his name meant... he promised himself he would be more carefull now... he had unusualy dark features for an elf, but then again his linneage had always been in question. He had the tall grace of an elf and the violet eyes were a stark contrast to the ebon hair. He wanted to make a name for himself, to find happiness away from his past.'So' he said to himself 'the heir of Isildur celebrates the fall of Sauron..how soon these children forget the trials of their fathers...' Sael could feel the darkness coming upon him and refused to succumb... he was tired of darkness he wanted to dwell in light for awhile...who knew what odd affect his curse would have here...it no longer mattered, all that mattered was that he was free...and there was a festival going on.

Swift stopped and set down on the bench. The tall man was covered in dust and grime, and it was apparent that he had traveled a long way.

Looking around, he swept his long black hair back behind his head, and tied it back with a piece of leather. His black eyes sweept the crowd that had gathered in the streets to celebrate.

He was tired, and he needed to find a place to rest. Rising to his full height of six feet, and eight inches. He headed deeper into the city, trying to find a suitable inn that would be within his meager resources.

Terick rindon:

Rolando is about 6'4, wieghs close to 180 lbs, but exceptionally strong, On good terms with Bilbo and Most of the Shire (He doesnt like the Proudfeet for some reason...)He's Got Long Silverish White Hair, ANd striking Blue Eyes, and in the eyes of Many younger elves he is a great hero, He possesses an Abundance in many trickery Skills, and He seems to possess Great virility (he's just got alot of skill in that sex magic..) And Drawing power with the ladies....
ic: *Roland Laughed at his fellowelf's jokes, Ah they could be so interesting sometimes...especially the Older ones....He stood, promising to come back and tell more stories later, he walked off a bit, Looking around curiously, hoping to be able to pick up a few ladies here today...He turned, and his eyes fell on one in particular...*

ooc: Hmm, hope we're gonna get some more female characters here...
Kitten Eyes--ok, if you want Arwen, I'm not gonna stop you...especially since I play Aragorn ;)

ic:

Elrist

Elrist walked along the celebrating streets, looking with excitement on all the strangers, come from so many differant places.
Suddenly, he heard a voice singing, the owrds so familiar to him...

"The leaves were long, the grass was green,
the hemlock umbels tall and fair...
"

Elrist turned. A Man of Gondor was singing part of the Lay of Leithian, the ancient elvish ballad of Beren and Luthien.

"...Tinuviel was dancing there,
to music of a pipe unseen...
"

Elrist listened until the song ended, then applauded the singer along with the others. When the applause had died down, Elrist too a deep breatth, and sang the same song again...but this time, it was in elvish...

Aragorn

Aragorn Elessar Telcontar, heir of Isildur, King of Gondor and Arnor, stood in an empty hall of the White Tower, wearing the Crown of Gondor and the Star of the North. Before him was a giant table laden with the finest meals and drinks, ready for the arrival of Aragorn's guests.
A noise made him turn. Arwen had just entered the room, dressed richly, even more beautiful thhan usual.
Aragorn approached her, smiling. "My Evenstar, as always thy beauty makes the stars seem faint by comparision."
Arwen smiled back, but there seemed to be a small trace of worry in her elvish eyes.
"I thank you, Estel...but tell me, have you seen Elrist today?"
"I spoke with him but two hours ago. He said he would rather join the celebraions in the street then attend our banquet. But noe fear, my lady, he said that he would be here ere midnight."

At this moment, the hall's great doors opened, and the guests filled in.

Bramblebuck Merryweather

At nigh on four feet, Bramblebuck (or just 'Bramble') is tall for a hobbit. Curly, dark brown hair tops his head (and feet) and his eyes are dark green. He prefers (for some reason) travelling to a comfortable hole in the ground. Though that's not to say he's adverse to a plush chair, roaring fireplace, and good food and drink. Wears rugged, outdoor clothing (usually fur-trimmed and in dark coloured greens and browns). Aptly versed in the use of a shortsword, pipeweed smoke-rings and roguish smiles.

IC:
Tethering old Kob to one of the posts in the stable, I grinned up at the young stablehand as I pressed a silver coin into his palm.

"Take care of the old gal" I said, and headed for into the interior of the tavern I had found.

one lil lady and all these fine fellas to contend with...

(can I have a dragon perched upon my shoulder? puwease? well no matter...)

Gaia (real creative ain't I?)
5'5"
Bright Burgundy Hair, A Pale streak of blond seems to weave itself through, tiny braids are swirled between her hair. Her pointed ears hidden by the length down to her knees.
Dark Caramel skin. An odd combination to her Hair.
Green eyes.
Adorned in a Brown Animal skin cloak, Animal skin pants, and a Burgundy dyed cloth shirt (hugging to her small curves of course)Soft leather boots.
Petite. With a a stubborn temper to match her hair.
Daughter of an unknown man and an elf.
SHe carries a walking stick. Her small friend of a porcupine upon her shoulder. A small breed, barely the size of her fist. Her hooded cloak trailed behind her. She has the ability to shape-shift her animal friend, Into any animal she desires, and at the moment, she felt prickly, therefore she chose the porcupine. (hope that this power isn't too much, she has a keen sense with animals. and can shape-shift them. Especially her small gift of this animal her mother gave her.)
She began to walk down the main street of this place, seh pulled out the last piece of bread she had in her pocket. Moldy. SHe had no coins, Whispering in the small animals ear, she changed it to a small bird. It went flying and plucked the gold coin right from a tall man's pocket. He seemed dangerous. She saw the man turn. He gasped in horror. He seemed angry, The tiny bird flew and flew, turning itself to a small mouse and climbing into my pocket. I stood there terrified. drawing my staff close to my side, I prepared to get hurt. I couldn't find my dear little Chu (that is my ann-e-mal...lol...animal...nevermind...) I searched my pocket, if I could hurry, maybe he could take me out of here. I looked up, the man towering over me. My eyes glinted their brightness, a shine of my true terror. Finally my dear Chu sat upon my shoulder, trembling. I decided quickly, trying to conjure up the nastiest creature i could think of....What was that in that book I was reading...AH YES! a dragon. Imagining the small creature upon my shoulder, sprouting wings, and becoming the size of a falcon, The green thing sort of appeared. The man looked in awe. It didn't turn out right, the damned thing was cute, not horrifieing. And to top it all off, Chu began to sleep. Great. I looked up. "sir..."

*He grinned, his eyes twinkling* It's alright m'dear..*he laughs heartily, as he saw the confused look on her face* I've got plenty...*he brought out 5 more, and dropped them into her pocket* There you go...Finest Crowns in Middle Earth! *he laughs heartilly, a kind man to any less fortunate than himself* What be your name m'dear?? And how on earth did that animal do such a trick....*he said, in slight awe, kneeling down a bit to look her in the eye* Well? Speak up! I have no intention to hurt you....*he said, more than a twinkle in his eye...*

hope you don't mind...

(I didn't know how to bring my character in...so i picked on you rolando...hope that doesn't anger you or anything.)

Taking a deep breath, My burgundy hair blew behind me as a breeze went through, I tilted my chin upwards. "I am Gaia." I narrowed my eyes. "your coins. Why do you give them up so freely?" I pulled them out of my pocket. The weight tremendous. I took his hand, I placed all of them, including the one I had wrongly taken, INto his palm. "I am dreadfully sorry, my misjudgement has caused me to mistake your genuine kindness." The tiny dragon nuzzled my neck. He sniffed the air, and stretched his new-found wings. He craned his neck and sniffed the man in front of me. He let out a puff of smoke. Chu was delighted with himself, and made merry by doing it over and over again. "This is Chu. I don't know what he is." Chu once again delighted himself and didn't think, He nipped at one of the buttons upon the man's shirt. It stood between it's new-gleaming sharp teeth. I blushed, my tanned skin turning cherry red. "I am being awfully rude, how you must think of me as a scoundrel. I do not ussually steal. OR borrow, as I call it." I muttered the last part. "I feel awful, may I be in debt to you." I bowed, not knowing if he was royalty, I didn't want trouble, just food. Bread, water. Whatever i could afford. I had left home, A band of so called "warriors", really elves with mischief, burned my home and my small shop. Leaving me with Chu. SO i traveled. And here I was, In front of a tall handsome man, who has every right to have me put in prison, or even killed. And I am att....I put the thought out of my mind. "I am so incredibly sorry, What may i Do to make it up to you, I know nothing will..." i looked around. My cloak, was of average material, nothing as regal as his, My shirt, a keepsake, from my native town, a color that is the symbol their, the rest of me plain. Except for Chu.

Terick:

Its been years since ive been to any kind of celebration i thought having drifted for 6 years never stopping for more than a nights rest and a meal.My ax my only reminder of my old life.As a soldier. One who served a very evil family and turned on them when they tried to order me to slaughter an innocent family of hobbits.

I noticed a young woman with a little dragon perched on her shoulder having trouble with another man.She looked like a thief. She glanced my direction for a second and then back at the man.I decided to stay out of it unless it became violent and i dought it would...

Arwen Evenstar

Arwen laid her hand on Aragorn's arm and smiled up at him. Tenderly, she brushed a stray hair from his eyes, noticing anew the silver threads. OH Estel, she thought, how cruel the years have been to you, yet now you are here, come into your own. Keeping close to his comforting presence, she descended the stairs with him to greet their guests.

Meliah

Making her way through the crowd, Meliah marveled at the sights of the city. Here was a juggler, there was a fortune teller, everything around her was full of light and color. She had bought a small honey cake and was just finishing the last bite when she felt a shadow pass over her. Looking up, she saw what appeared to be an elf; male with hair as black as onyx. Briefly, she caught a glimpse of his violet eyes and felt the weight of his aura. Such a heaviness stood out amongst the revelers. Curiousity peaked, she couldn't help but follow him with her eyes.

ENTER FRODO:
____________

As Frodo lay, tired...but unable to close his eyes..
it seemed to him that far away there came a light
in the eastern sky...it flashed and faded...many times...
it was not the dawn...for that was some hours off...

ooc

Ahm, pete, I said that this is in the fourth age, and in Middle-Earth...and I wasn't really planning to bring Frodo back form the west

Enter Strider

Standing by the fire gazing towards the city...
hearing the commotion...he turns back to Frodo...
Awe shitt Frodo...look at you...you're wasted..
did you eat all of those mushrooms that the Traveler
from Boulder gave us...
Frodo in a daze...staring at the light show in his
mind just nods & smiles...that's it Frodo...
you lost my new Wallflowers CD...now you
eat all of the 'shrooms...i'm gonna mount my horse
and ride on into the festival...i'm starving...&
i need some good clean fun...you got the munchies ???
you are welcome to come...

Heading deeper into the city, he noticed a comotion. Walking towards it, he saw the blinking of gold. That always attracted his emotions, pulling him closer to the intruiging woman...

*He grins slightly* You need not repay me Child...And I have traveled far and wide, and have Accumulated Much...However, I do not think you wrong..*he grins, a flash of mischief in his eyes* But you should Work together when you...Borrow...Instead of apart...if one of you distracts while the other goes for the Goods, you'll have a better chance to succeed...I myself had to Do a little bit of it way back....Before I learned to defend myself...*he smiles softly* Now, I belive You can do somthing for me...You can accept my gift...*he places the six coins back in her hand* And you can allow me to buy you a meal and a drink, while you tell me your story, then over a dessert or two, i shall tell you mine, That will be sufficent payment, and I insist upon this m'dear...*he grins, offering his hand* shall we??

(S'ok Lava, I myself was wondering what to do...)

Sael Avari

Sael had many gifts ..but observance was not one of them. In fact he moved as if he was in a world all his own... suddenly he stopped as if he were taking a drink from a cool clear stream...somewhere nearby someone made a comment about "elves with mischief" slowly he began to feel the curiosity of the crowd some elves in the crowd began to become angered by the comment... in turn some humans seemed to feel that they shared such feelings...Sael looked into the air as if he was tasting something...slowly unconciously he drank in the emotions, just slightly enhancing them, this curse worked both ways it norished him, and enhanced his meager senses but it also left him hungering. His other senses were wasting away. In order to maintain his essence he needed stronger emotions, hatred, passion, exctasy, pathos... extremes seemed to be the only nourishment now...he wondered how long he had to live...he wondered if he could atone for his sins was the fact that he lived in a gray all his days enough or what was planned for him?

Strider

riding into the festival...Strider cannot help but
feel invinceable...he thinks to himself...
i love being an unknown in a strange town...
if i can only find the coolest lady around...
i've been on the road too long...
maybe she'll find me...i'm a hungry man !!!
oh my god...
the way the light flows through her hair...
i can smell the lavender oil...
she is so kind on the eyes....

Terick:

I am quite tall I stand a good 6'5.My shoulder length white/blonde i kept tied back with a leather strap.
I was wearing an outfit made from different animals i have hunted and skinned, with a cloak you'd usually see a beggar wear.Nobody would think i am carrying a sack with 15 gold peices, everything i had left from a fortune i had saved up from my time as a soldier.

My ax was animal bone with a pure silver blade.Worth a bit if id sell it but id never part with it.....

gaia.

( i was just wondering if the fact that I seem to talk to you in all of my posts...bothers you, It really isn't on purpose, just you write so that anything is open to a new writer, an achievement that is beyond my capability. However, I think that I may pick on you on purpose, probably cause my other thread is ...sniff...dying. Anywho, back to my short elvish self...you don't know she is an elf do you?)

"I am forever in debt to you." I sort of stared hard at the coins, I have made silver in my lifetime, but never...gold. And never so many. I was just purely shocked, I slipped them in my pocket, I would give them back later. He could obviously tell I was not used to this stealing thing. It shocked me that a man with such noble aura about him would even talk to me, let alone, give me coinage. He placed his hand out. Chu jumped upon it, doing a small check of the man before he hoped back on my shoulder, He seemed to like being a dragon, so for now, that is what he shall be. I timidly placed my slender hand into his. I was just tall enough to make it not look too akward. I wondered where he was heading, and why he didn't have a horse. so I asked him, he just smiled.

(alright, i am assuming you were originally on your way to the 'feast' so somehow we have to get there, and...I dunno about my character. Just lettin it flow...any suggestions are welcome...)

Walking *he began* is So much more healthy for you...*he laughs slightly, And walks with her through the crowds, enjoying her touch and her company, He looked sharp for someplace to get her a few things...Some Decent clothes for one..he smiled, spotting the local Seamstress(one of an excellent quality) and walked over swiftly, he smiled at her* Do you know your Blouse and Dress Size M'dear??*he asked, a bit coyly*

Meliah

Watching the dark elf move through the crowd, she wondered why there was such a sadness surrounding him. Whatever it was, she wasn't sure she would ever find out. He seemed to be wrapped in his own world. Still, curiousity was too much a part of her nature to let it go.

Spying a small puddle of water, she discreetly moved her hand over it. It wasn't wise to let most humans see one perform magic. Focusing on the dark elf, she stared deeply into the water. It swirled and clouded, finally forming an image. Darkness, deep as midnight during a new moon, the croak of a carrion bird, the cry of a tortured soul. With a gasp, she banished the image. Never before had she known such dispair and her own horror rose up to match. She looked up to see him facing her direction. Had he seen her?

Sael Avari

Sael moved through the crowd, listening and feeling all that passed round him... suddenly a feeling like a cold wind on a hot sunny day flowed across his senses. someone had the gift... and they were using it on him... his regualrly shadowed heart drew in the darkness to hide its secrets, but something made him change his mind. He was tired and conflicted and for a second he allowed the stranger inside... she with drew in abstract horror... he chuckled, partially because of her reaction. Partially because now he could sense her she was behind him 12 feet away. he turned and moved in her direction. He smiled a humorless smile as he moved in closer to her. For someone who had the build of a fighter , he moved with the cautious gait of a thief. he stopped near her and bowed to her "I am Sael..." quietly he pondered 'I wonder if she knows that I am blind?'
