OK, this thread is set in Middle-Earth, the fantasy world found in the works of JRR Tolkien. Having read the Lord of the Rings would definitely be helpful in order to join this, but I would think it's possible to pick up the needed information as you go along.
Setting
It is the first of august 1330 in the Shire Reckoning, eleven years after the destruction of the One Ring.
King Aragorn Elessar is holding a giant festival in Minas Tirith, to celebrate the returned prosperity of Gondor and Arnor, and to commemorate the downfall of Sauron. Many great heroes are present at this feast:
Samwise Gamgee with his Rose wife, Celeborn of Lorien, Elladan and Elrohir the sons of Elrond, King Eomer of Rohan--well, basically, all the important characters who are still in Middle-Earth at the end of LOTR
While all these distinguished Lords and Ladies are holding a banquet in the White Tower, celebration is also going on everywhere in the streets of the city. Responding to King Aragorn's invitation, people from all corners of the Western World, from lords to peasants, have come to Minas Tirith...and many Dwarves can be seen, even Elves--and for the first time in the history of Gondor, a large group of Hobbits, come all the way from the Shire.
Spirits are high, everywhere people enjoy themselves, be it through drinking, laughing, dancing, or enjoying one of the many women who take this opportunity to gain some gold coins with their bodies (NOTE: I know that this isn't 'Tolkienesque' at all, but if we were to keep the spirit of the books, this wouldn't have a place in the Sexual RP Board)
Your Characters
Choose whomever you wish, a character from anywhere, come to join the celebration--Human, Hobbit, Elf, Dwarf(though that might make it a little difficult to find a partner
You should invent your own characters, those from the books will mainly be played by me in order to get the plot devellopment ready. If you really, desperatly want to play Faramir, Arwen, or another character from the books, I won't stop you of course(Ithink I'll reserve Aragorn though...he's just a little too important.)
A special note on 'magic': the only realy wizards in Tolkien's work were Maiar, a sort of lower Gods(Gandalf was one), and in the Fourth Age all have left Middle-Earth. However, it seems that Elves had at least some kind of magic power. This does not mean that playing an Elf should give you the ability to throw fireballs etc, but you might have minor healing powers, or the ability to amke small, not-too-powerful magic items, etc.
At a suggestion from Kitten Eyes, I also decided to include a new from of...'sex magic'. The exact form under which it appears is differant for each person, and is left to the creativity of the posters who decide to include this in their character. Maybe you can through enchanment perform the ultimative seduction, or slightly enhance a person's sexual feeling, or maybe your magic would be more fixed on the...act...itself. Be creative! I am even ready to accept this in other races, as long as it isn't exaggerated.
As I said, we'll have to change a lot of things anyway.
Where to Start
Just introduce your character in a small scene during the celebration, maybe already meeting some fellow posters...and just let things develop.
Let's hope this is going to be a success!
And now, let's go!

Introducing my main character, Elrist son of Halbarad. Having reached his the eighteenth year of his life only a short time ago, his face is quite handsome, especially with his bright green eyes and short brown hair. His mother died at his birth, and his father was slain during the War of the Ring. Since Halbarad had been a kinsman of Aragorn, Elrist has been living with the Kind and Queen of Gondor ever since. He has a passion for old legends, and for foreign people, be they humans, elvies, hobbits or dwarves. He is also a good singer, and many call him a dreamer. Indeed Elrist often drowns in his own thoughts, making him seem somewhat shy.
Elrist sat at a table in one of the city's new inns, the King Returned. Drinking a cup of Dorwinion wine, he observed the merrymaking outside.
The inn was fairly quiet, since most people were on the streets, but some people were drinking and celebrating in here as well. Smiling, Elrist rose and payed the inkeeper. If the latter had known that the person before him was Elrist, the adoptive son of the king, he would never have accepted payment. But Elrist sledom revealed who he was, it often made it difficult to get to know other people.
Getting ready for a mirthful day, Elrist stepped outside into the celebrating streets.
