The Web(sters) Unabashed Dictionary, Volume 1 (currently under authoring) :D

1; circa 2006; "Mid Life Cry-Sis"; Literotica in it's 30 something year.

2; circa 1990; "What ever happened to the Bee Gee's?"

3; circa 1980; "Well the concerts were cool, and I had a sister once that dreamed of Jimmy Hendrix"

4; circa 1970; "I got you babe. We got laid babe. I saw flowers on windowpane. You passed out on novacaine. And if you smoke, you can inhale, it's not gonna last, and Hoffman won't prevail."

5; circa 1930; "Honey. I like that name Tim. Timothy Leary. He'll be free.. free to choose for himself. Pass me the opium, okay?"

Mid Life Isn't a Crisis. It's a target. It's a point in time where people begin to wonder if they are in; expecting; overcoming; .. oh.. is it too late? OH MY GOD... WAIT!!! IS there a GOD? Oh Fuck. (memo: write my will. save the whales. (am I too old for sex? Nah. Well maybe. ["Honey!!!??? Umm.. do I still turn you on? ~~ shit ~~ Okay Okay, Yes I'll buy more AAA and C batteries"]

No it's not a crisis, but you can sure make it one. (keep that "on your mind")

Then you've got 3 more to go, re: your life. I'll part some Whiz-dome.. never let anybody create a crisis that isn't worth the time of your life you spend with them. The only real crisis' we have are those we can create. It's hard to always stay on top of things, and we're not expected to, but damn it, we can sure explain to those who think otherswise that they are a "crisis waiting to happen"

I plan on mid-life at 75.

Then those final 75 years are gonna be a blast...

Highest Bidder: 150. Doe's anyone have 151? That's the attitude, hogjack, you're cup is apparently half-full not the other, and you're not thinking of stereotypical limitations. I fully support life-extension sciences research... and sucking blood out of those who are evil fucks... and obviously the belief that nature needs balance :D

True dat.

If you're having a crisis, there's a reason for it. If you don't learn from it, chances are, you'll be having it again. (And again and again and again until the lesson's learned)

My two cents, anyway.

Economics are a true sign of the times aren't they? (2c)

Yes, two distinct and simple approaches to life come to mind:
a) Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me (and if that double address is about one's self only, that's r-e-a-l-l-y a shame)
b) Beating one's head against the wall isn't so bad, because it always feels better when you stop. ~~ repeat often ~~

And not even 30 yet? :D
Don't remember a major crisis (I tend to blank them out)
lots of mini ones if you let them be. seems I remember it like:
20: party wheres the party?
30: didn't think I'd make it this far....why so many responsibilities?
40: well if I'm going to do anything it's now or never.....
50: screw it ..... party wheres the party? ;)

All very good advice. :rose:
