Are you wanting to patronize Dell because of their high art, highly spiritual and uplifting advertising campaign which uses high art metaphors and spreads a holy message of redemption? Well... I hope you like Windows.

Dell recently released a memo that said that MS is mandating that no more OS-less computers are sold. (Pretty much like Coca-Cola telling stores that they cannot give cups of ice or water away). So, if you want a computer to install another operating system on, you MUST buy Windows.

Wow, Consumer freedom rocks!

I still dont see what the big shit is about windows. It sucks. I had a Mac for 8 years and no problems. I might get 8 hours till I have to reboot.

The big reason? People are afraid to change. THe buisness world didn't give two craps about Windows or even DOS before it, they cared about the name on the box- which was IBM. Then they built up a marketbase on compatability, eventually overcoming Apple's large market share of the day.

Basically people were afraid of having to learn a new system and getting confused when they bought home machines. So they just went with Windows.

You know what scares people most about the mac? The one button mouse. The lack of a button, that's it. They don't understand that the operating system is designed for one button. It also creates incredibly beautiful mice (Apple Pro Mouse).

I miss my Mac. Very few programs for it. Kinda like Beta tapes.

There are more mac programs than ever. Thousands of them. Almost anything you could want is on a Mac.

Unless you simply want games.
