Microsoft news....

Still have to upgrade the pc though, right?

If your PC is from 1995 maybe. Otherwise probably not.
Plus it's really not that big of a deal that they stopped supporting it. It doesn't mean it won't work, just means you'll be a little vulnerable and won't get tech support. But if you need tech support for IE then you got a lot more problems.

So this news only applies to IE, and the rest of the system is fine?
I use firefox as my browser.

A netbook with XP? I don't know if I'd go around admitting stuff like that.

It was delivered with Win7, but I put WinXP on it for size reasons and because it runs anyway. For the things I need on it - all my music, DJ and music programs, and office - it's perfect.

I think WinXP lost support in general not long ago. Which means exactly this: you can't upgrade any longer. But it still works.

It's just IE. If you don't use it then don't worry about it.
Microsoft stops supporting old stuff all the time and people still use them anyway. It's not like software suddenly stops working when a company moves on to something else. If that were the case updates would be way more critical than they are.

Still, dude. A netbook. Have some pride.

IE 11 will make you want to take a hammer to the computer.

After you slap ya mamma!

My Netscape will still work, right?

Hah! I cut my internet teeth on netscape. I would go to friend's houses and they all used IE and I always tried to tell them it was garbage, but nobody listened to computer advice from 11 year olds back then.

People still use IE?

Going by my experience they try to with unholy results.

Seriously...It HAD to be made that way on purpose!

I can't believe a browser could be fucked up that bad by accident!
