Several Republican members of the Michigan House of Representatives are proposing articles of impeachment against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D).

State Rep. Matt Maddock (R) announced via Parler that he is joining with Reps. Daire Rendon (R), Beau LaFave (R), Ryan Berman (R), and Shane Hernandez (R) on the effort. He said incoming legislators Ken Borton (R) and Steve Carra (R) are supportive, as well.

State Sens. Dan Lauwers (R) and Lana Theis (R) are also backing impeachment, Maddock said.

Maddock posted a list of reasons for why he believed Whitmer should be impeached:

So Whitmer's SHOULD be impeached for protecting her citizens but Trump SHOULDN'T have been impeached for jeopardizing national security.

Got it.

SAD!!!

I supported her election (and she's kinda hot), but she went on a power trip and I now support her removal. I'd rather she resign however.

Whitmer went on a jackbooted power trip and violated the civil rights of the residents of Michigan right to the edge of starting a fuckin' civil war......because "COVID!!!" which isn't a valid justification under the law or in the minds of any sane people. Who are now apparently about to remove the little "progressive" Stalina wannabe who forgot she was a governor of a US State and thought herself the "Dear Leader" of N. Korea.

Trump didn't do anything like that, he respected states rights and followed the law...ENRAGING (D)emocraps who were dumb enough to buy into the medias story that he alone had the authority to snap his fingers and make Covid vanish from existence but because he's so cruel he decided to let the states set their own public health policies MURDERING over 200,000 Americans!!

Called rule of law Lazzy.

Do you hear yourself??? "and she's kinda hot"??? "she went on a power trip"???

Are you aware of the reality of the Covid crisis and the destructive impact it's having on American's health AND the economy???

Covid was always going to be a war, and it required the president and the citizens to fight it like a war.

Trump failed in his role, and many citizens failed in their role.

SAD!!!

^^^^^

SCOTUS precedence says she has every right to do what she did... so you're wrong.

No it didn't and on top of all that she got fuckin' REKT in the courts....then she pushed shit until things almost got violent.

Because violence is what happens when people stop following the laws.

So let's hope everyone follows the law and keeps it in and abides by the courts.

Because this is just the beginning.

All the "Progressive" mayors and governors who thought COVID was a greenlight to just flagrantly violate everyone's civil and in some cases human rights however the fuck they wanted?

Are gonna get REKT in court too...

California especially is in for a WORLD of hurt over the next few years. Run your middle class and even a rapidly growing list of big boi money makers off with a stick and then get sued into oblivion with nothing but junkies and homeless folks for a tax base to pay the bill LOL...so much progress.

So glad one asshole will never vacation here in Ca

Good luck impeaching a governor who is trying to keep you alive

So, Whitmer's to be impeached for doing her job, but not Snyder, who let people go without clean drinking water in Flint for literal years? Really? Really?

God's teeth, this is what happens when half of a population is taught to reject science in favor of a book of fairy tales!

Reality isn't the best strength of people who still think that COVID is a hoax.

This one at least seem to acknowledge the election outcome. That's something, I guess.

Actually, no. She lost in court, and now uses her appointed Obama administration hand-me-down MDDHS director to issue orders (that she, of course, announces).

It was found in court that her executive orders were unlawful, she did not have the authority to indefinitely extend the state of emergency without legislative approval.

At that point she did an end run around the courts by using this tactic of having the DHHS issue her orders as health guidelines.

Even though they carry less weight, it seems to have placated her, mainly because she still gets to go on television.

.
With every spike in infections and deaths those who obstructed Covid prevention measures will be discredited, and Governor Whitmer's actions will be validated. History will judge her as having upheld her oath of office.

She is and was right on Covid.

So, Whitmer's to be impeached for doing her job,

Can either of you cite exactly where it's ANY governors job to violate their residents constitutionally protected rights?? I'm pretty sure they're sworn to do the exact opposite of that.

Either of you care to point to the "except when (D)'s panic" clause on the Bill of Rights neither of you seem to recognize as existing???

:confused::confused:

I know you leftist are no fan of human or civil rights in any way but this is still the USA and you haven't won the votes nor the revolution to gain the power needed to just flagrantly shit on people civil rights.

Try again comrades.

She is and was right on Covid.

Only in the eyes of authoritarian thugs like yourself. .

Her actions were and will always be ILLEGAL, that's why she's about to get thrown the fuck out.

Her oath of office is not to impose (D) totalitarianism anywhere she can manage ....sorry Laz.

This is just the beginning too, the judicial and now the legislative branches are taking "progressive" governors and mayors to fuckin' task and that's not even considering all the lawsuits.

Called checks and balances...keeps you little Stalin/Kim/Mao wannabe "progressives" in check.

“Right” and “within the bounds of her power as governor” aren’t necessarily the same thing.

She wasn’t elected queen of Michigan, she was legally required to get legislative approval which she failed to do.

...then she pushed shit until things almost got violent.

Good heavens...for anyone who didn't hear about it, there was recently an incident in which a group of right-wing extremists were discovered to have plans to kidnap Gov. Whitmer and murder her (and probably rape her along the way - after all, why not?)...and PS here is blaming that on her. Wow. That just might be the most distasteful thing I've ever read on these boards. And that is saying a LOT.

Yeah, yeah, I know, you didn't say that. You just implied it as clearly as could possibly be done. Southern Strategy 101 there.

That is for the courts to decide, not incel militias.

She was being proactive in the face of a pandemic.

State legislatures do not always represent the majority of the citizens of a state but the Governor does.

If she had authorized restrictions over the common cold, then yeah, boot her ass; but we're talking about a deadly novel virus that the president was lying about to boost the stock market and his re-election chances.

She is and was right to institute health and safety measures and is being validated by the reality of Covid every day.

No I'll say it, it's her behavior that got that reaction out of people.

If you go all jackbooted Stalin, thinking mayor, governor or even POTUS =god queen/king and the laws don't apply to you?? ESPECIALLY when you're trying to starve them to death/economically destroy them and leave them and their families totally fucked.....

Don't be shocked when people start plotting to take you out.

I hope Biden listens to his advisors about just how fucking dangerous the totalitarian lockdowns the left is clamoring for REALLY are.

That is for the courts to decide, not incel militias.

The courts did decide Laz...you and yours were told to GET FUCKED.

And the militias are and will always be standing by should any executives decide to go all god king/queen on the people.

Illegally and so the fuck what? We have rule of law here not the rule of the majority.

If she had authorized restrictions over the common cold, then yeah, boot her ass; but we're talking about a deadly novel virus that the president was lying about to boost the stock market and his re-election chances.

She essentially did....it's a weak as fuck novel virus that isn't that big of a deal, it's just hyped up because "orange man bad!!" hysteria.

She is and was right to institute health and safety measures and is being validated by the reality of Covid every day.

No, she wasn't, she was illegal and wrong. According to the courts and very possibly the people of Michigan here soon.

That's the OPPOSITE of being validated....that's called getting your jackbooted authoritarian ass REKT son. :D

No, she isn’t and wasn’t. That’s not how the law works.
