"In the last three years, we've worked hard to get out of this mess and we've made some remarkable progress."
"This mess" means capitalism and and the production of wealth, especially wealth in the hands of those most talented and capable of producing it.
"Remarkable progress" means reductions in the ability of Americans to produce wealth, fewer opportunities to get rich, and steps taken to increase the number of people dependent upon government. I.e. spreading the misery more equally.
"We know there are people still suffering and there is a long road left to travel."
"People still suffering" refers to union members who are being asked to contribute more of their own money to their own retirement funds.
"A long road left to travel" means there are still too many rich people, too many bitter clingers, too many legal gun owners. She and her Fellow Travelers have a long way to go to make those groups a minority.
"You’re here because you know that we stand at a fundamental crossroads for our country. You’re here because you know that in less than a year from now, we are going to make a choice that will impact our lives for decades to come."
She read the poll showing her husband is in deep trouble, and has billions to raise from the elite rich hypocrites on the left. There isn't much time left to implement the agenda.
"I hear the passion and the determination in [Obama's] voice."
He knows he's toast.
