Michael Jackson's "Ghosts" (1996)

Synopsis:
A mob made up of angry parents led by the Mayor of Normal Valley make their way to an eerie hilltop mansion to confront its mysterious occupant The Maestro.

Did anyone else know about this when it was first released FIVE years ago? I was flipping channels a week or so ago and VH1 played the whole movie in it's entirety (35 minutes!).

It was written by Stephen King!

You better watch it or you're going to make several hundred plastic surgeons VERY angry....

I saw this a couple of weeks ago.

The Gloved One is really hard to look at, but the man still is the most fluid and instinctive dancer I've ever seen. There are some sections in this minimovie that just made me gape and wonder just how the hell someone could dance like that.

The other dancers with him are nearly as spectacular. It's nearly as good as Thriller, but has better effects. The scene toward the end which features the "Ghosts" song is prety much all you might need to watch. It's the big musical number and it's also where the dancing and effects merge really well. It's also the place where about five times I said to myself "That's fucking cool!"

I wish Michael all the success in the world.
I know he has expenses.
You've got to sell a boatload of albums to pay off the parents of the children you molest.

I'm gonna check it out. Michael Jackson is HIGHLY entertaining. I admit it... I like his music, well most of it. I don't like the sappy stuff, like "Free Willy."

It really was outstanding - I kind of went into it expecting Thriller/Smooth Criminal/Remember The Time and it wasn't like any of that.

He pokes a lot of fun at himself, and the dancing and effects are wild.

"Ghosts" as a song is pretty good. It's got a pretty funky quirky beat and it's almost vintage Michael - playful, layered harmonies, with Michael's trademark habit of almost making the words too short. But it works pretty well.

And Bob...that whole last section reminded me a *LOT* of "Thriller", including the "Thriller Dancers Line".

I saw it and wasnt impressed

:p
