Michael Jackson

If he is found guilty, they should make him give all his money to a charity for helping the child prostitute herion addicts in Thailand.

Yes! Then they can afford better herion instead of the garbage they are taking now.

You cynic, you! I was talking about training them up better and organizing unions.

If anyone could afford the best in therapy, it's Jackson. Whatever residual issues he is dealing with from his bizarre childhood and even more bizarre and abusive family, he's had plenty of time and money as an adult to seek help. I wish he had.

To seek help, you have to recognize and admit something is wrong. If you are working, with a childs perception, then nothing is ever your fault. Few kids will even own up to things they did when there is no other possible culprit ( I know all two well with three brothers).

When you add a group of sycophants, who would agree necro-bestial-butt-sex was normal if it kept their checks coming, I don't see how anyone can expect him to Know he needs help.

In one of the stranger aspects of this, the court hasn't ordered a psycological evaluation of Jackson to se if he is competant to stand trial. So, perhaps, I am way off base in what I see.

The only thing I have read lately of what will be in the trial that I didn't know before, was the existence of a magazine the prosecution intends to introduce as evidence.

The reason I believed the news item was that it wasn't put out by the defense or prosecution, it was about how the judge had to make some pre-trial decisions on what the prosecution can call the magazine.

During the trial the prosecution will not be allowed to call the magazine obscene or pornographic. The judge said they can refer to it as adult oriented however since it contains pictures of naked underage boys.

Of course in responding to the judges rulings, the prosecution said it is evidence since it has the boys and MJ's fingerprints on it, the defense intends to argue that the boy picked it up and MJ took it away from him.

Sleeping in the same bed with a child without sex may just be odd, very fucking odd, but leaving child porn magazines laying around for the child to see and pick up is insane.

Thats why I don't think his insanity was temporary, its his way of living. Also insanity as a defense or used as a tool to say someone is not competent to stand trial is the same as saying the victim or crime never existed, just the accused state of mind is all that is important.

I don't think you are off base Colly, if he is found guilty I think he should be evaluated to determine if his sentence should include psychological help, but not be dependant on that alone.

P.S. I am not sure of his guilt, nor do I believe that the evidence presented will be accurate. If they bring out one of O.J.'s blood-stained gloves (which may happen in this circus) then the trial will be so fucked up they will have to say "He is not guilty beyond a shadow of doubt."

Reasonable doubt is the key to any trial. It's up to the prosecutors to make sure the jury knows that any doubt is not reasonable doubt, just as it is up to the defense to imply that any doubt is reasonable doubt.

I firmly believe that insanity should be used only in the sentencing phase of a trial. No one should ever avoid RESPONSIBILITY for the crimes they have comited, but there are certainly cases where PUNISHMENT should reflect a disturbed person's perceptions.

I think, given Jackson's past history, especially the payouts to keep past accusations out of court, proving innocence will be tough. His own mouth may prove to be his worst enemy, as interviews wehre he extolls the virtures of sleeping with kids will clearly be admissible. If he does get off, I don't for amoment believe he won't be back in the headlines within a year or two with more accusations.

Amen.

Past behavior is usually a fairly good indicator of future behavior.

As far as sleeping with kids goes......there's right and wrong involved in that, as well. My four-year-old sleeps with me, and has since he had open-heart surgery at five and a half months old. There's not a damn thing wrong with that (especially given the situation at home).

But, I don't sleep with other people's kids in the bed with me.

EeeeeeeK!!!

Ya know Cloudy, when I looked at what I wrote it did seem to imply any kid, my bad.

Nothings wrong with parents and kids sleeping in the same bed or anything like that.

I heard about the father investigated by CPS because he kissed his daughter in a grocery store parking lot.

I was talking about grown men sleeping with unrelated children
when I said odd, and the child porn is not odd but criminal.

Forgive me!!!!
