Mexico's war on drugs. US increases travel warning in 14 Mexican states.

Thank God that we have an open border so that the Mexican Mafia can easily supply America with inexpensive drugs

We used to head down to Nuevo Laredo every two weeks back in the day when it was safe. Arrive on a Friday night and return Sunday evening for shopping and whatnot. We have not been there in about 8 years or so on account of how horrid it had become.

The last time we visited, every few blocks you'd see a soldier with an automatic rifle. Too creepy, felt unsafe and we never headed back.

There was this large grocery store we used to always shop at when we'd visit as items were always fairly cheap. Several years back a family friend of ours went down for a visit. She said during the day, several members of a cartel went in and shot up that very store. She made it back home on this side but never returned.

To this day I can't believe how bad it has become, which is quite sad considering how often we used to visit, how safe it used to be, the great times we had.

We'd spend Saturday's getting plastered and have great food...dirt cheap. Meh. :(

It's funny

because they don't ever seem to announce how many of those doing the killings down in Mexico are US citizens themselves. And also, it's funny how they fail to announce that many of the people they let go here from prisons when they should have been given a large amount of time behind bars, go down to Mexico to work for the cartels themselves. But it is even funnier how they fail to announce how this huge drug problem that the United States has now is the consequence of the many doors they used to open themselves to drug traffickers back in the 70s and 80s so that they could bring their drugs in with no problems. It was good for the states back then when they needed the help of these drug lords with the wars going on in Nicaragua and other countries, but now they're paying the consequences. Just a quick note lol.

Like most things drugs are a consumer based industry. People want what they want and will find a way to get it. Current drug policy creates drug lords and cartels. It is a self fulfilling prophecy.

Well Said...

snip....The advisory issued Wednesday says U.S. citizens have been victims of drug violence, including killings, kidnappings and carjackings....end of snip

Like, we did not already know this.

Any American who is stupid enough to travel to Mexico solely for recreational purposes probably deserves to be shot/kidnapped/beheaded.

I can't wait for when the drug cartels come to the USA and start killing people by the tens of thousands!
