Meteor Shower Tonight

[Lost Cause]

Thought I'd just give all a heads up. From 12am - 2am PST 11/18/01, the Leonid meteor shower will be in full swing. So set up the ol' lawn chair, grab a big blanket, your favorite honey, adult beverage, and enjoy the biggest celestial display in 35 years!

It is cool.

I sat out on my lawn for like 45 minutes and saw alot of meteorites hitting earth's atmosphere.

Very cool indeed. Better than the last time I saw this same meteor shower...........

Wow, and double wow! I watched about 60 in about an hour before the fog rolled back in off the Puget Sound. I noticed that alot I saw burned a bright white, not the green (iron ore) and purple (nickle) I'm used to. Had a few whizzers, and whooshers, and a few that went from horizon to horizon. Can't wait till the "Big One" comes around.

We actually went out about 10 miles from the house and sat in the middle of a field on lawn chairs and faced up.

It was spectacular here. A site to behold. I am glad I woke up at 4:15 a.m. to watch............now I am off to beddie bye land.

The last time there was a big meteor shower didn't compare to this one............they were everywhere. I lost count of how many I saw close to 5 a.m. EST but it was alot and they went all the way until we left at 6 a.m. EST. and were even still going when we got out of the car at home at 6:10 or so.......amazing ain't it?

That was so cool.

I didn't think I was going to see any action because of the cloud cover, but I went out anyway on the off chance, and the skies cleared up for a good forty minutes or so.

And the cosmos gave me some lovin'. Wow. That was spectacular. Mr. "I'm Going to Bed Early" doesn't know what he missed!

I wonder if this meteor shower sounded like rain on a tin roof on board the space station? I'm going to go to NASA.gov to see if they have some neato pics.

I'm so glad we stayed up to see that. What a wonderful experience. Dragon, my daughter, her fiancee, and myself layed on a blanket at 4 am up on the mountain we live on. We had a great view with no fog in site. It was like something out of Star Wars, the sky was lit up constantly. Absolutely amazing!

Didn't have anyone special to share it with, close, anyway, so I grabbed a friend and we watched it come down.....beautiful

My hubby and I set the alarm for 4 am. I grabbed the sleep bag and 2 mugs of hot apple cider. We cuddled up and watched the most amazing visions for an hour. We live about an hour of the NC coast and it's quite dark around our home. We saw more meteors shooting about than I've ever witnessed.
I felt completely right with all the world for that hour.

Woke up at 4am CST and wandered out on the back porch << nekkid >> only to confirm that for once the WeatherGuessers were actually right! Totally overcast, and not a star in sight... Let alone a glimse at the best meteor shower in 35 year!!!
