Nah, not in America...
...right?
How unutterably sad that the biggest 'free' country in the world needs to screen it's students in school and it's theatre patrons for dangerous weapons.
And even sadder that most of the free people don't see this as a problem.

That's why I laugh and feel disgusted at the same time when politicians and their fan clubs start screaming "liberty" and "freedom" go police state!!!
There isn't a security measure, law or prohibition of any kind that would have stopped crazy boy. All the gun free zones, gun control, metal detectors and security already in place have yet to stop a mass shooting, in fact the more we focus on it and try to prevent it the more it seems to happen yet we continue to call for more.![]()
But they WILL use it to create a new security task force/division....at the cost of BILLIONS. God damn metal detector/security companies can't WAIT for that to happen. They probably creamed their pant's when they herd the news.
The advocates of this are either stupid as all fuck, or they are looking to get a pay day out of it. I'm leaning towards the latter.
Imagine pulling a gun on a theater of armed patrons.
I usta piss judges off when I reminded victims that domestic violence injunctions are made of paper, and a poor shield against a bullet.
I estimate it was 1968 when America decided it needed to be restrained with chains and bars. A century before, in the midst of our Civil War, the President walked about town and visitors were welcome at the White House without much scrutiny or inconvenience.
So what changed? The News.
I hope they put them on the fire exits, that's where he entered.
Actually he entered unarmed through the front and then went for his stash...
So, pre-security. from what we have learned, the perp buys a ticket, enters the theater (theatre for you foreigners), sits a spell, exits the theater via one of the emergency exits, leaves the door ajar, gets his gear, re-enters the theater with his stuff, and proceeds to hose down his fellow movie goers.
Post-security, the perp buys a ticket, goes through the full body scanner, then the pat down, then enters the theater (theatre for you foreigners), sits a spell, exits the theater via one of the emergency exits, leaves the door ajar, gets his gear, re-enters the theater with his stuff, and proceeds to hose down his fellow movie goers.
What has changed?
More freedom lost to big gummint.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. ~ C. S. Lewis
I can see it now. X-ray machines supervised by and pat-downs given by minimum-wage pimply teenagers.
