I use Facebook Messenger to talk to someone but they are having their messages read. Is their a "Discreet" messaging service that we could use to keep in touch?

Any of the instant messaging software...just make sure you don't have it save messages on the computer. Otherwise the messages disappear when you shut the messaging software down. And unless you give your password to someone else there is no way to retrieve the messages.

i think it's important to understand how those messages are being read, so you don't wind up continuing with a false sense of security.

or, just maybe, abandon any need to message in secret.

They are not being read. My friend deletes the messages but then her hubby wants to know why all the messages between me and her have been deleted. Which is fair enough on his part. But I was wondering if there is a message service other than Facebook which could be used...some kind of instant chat where it is deleted and no trace on her phone/Ipad?

It may sound like a joke... Snap chat?

Or make another form of talking and don't keep it on her front screen. Only open it every now and again. If it stays in the app page he won't see it to know its there and open it.

Let's see....

MS Instant Messaging...is this still around?

Trillian ...I've used this in the past.

Pidgin ...never heard of this but is listed as one of the top five.

Miranda IM ...same for this one

There are several others....do a google search for Instant Messaging Programs.

From the sound of it, the most discrete messenger is one that he doesn't know about, so go for something more obscure, like Viber.
