German Chancellor Angela Merkel has warned that recent successes against the terrorist group could lead to heightened danger at home (in Germany).

Her message comes as Germany and its allies seek new ways to counter radicalism.

Speaking to German police chief Frank Rogatty, German Chancellor Merkel said Germany and its allies had achieved significant advances against "Islamic State" (IS)

LOL

Of course she did.

She's floundering.....it looks bad and if France jumps on the nationalist bandwagon the EU is fucked.

"It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the--if he--if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not--that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement....Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true."

Miss teen USA couldn't have said it better.

Just to keep you up to date, the lorry was from Poland and the Polish driver was found, shot dead, in the passenger seat. The one suspect, an asylum seeker from Pakistan, has been released due to lack of evidence. IS has, as they always do, claimed the incident as theirs.

So far there is no evidence that the perpetrator was not a home grown terrorist. However, that has not stopped the right wingers from blaming Merkel's refugee policy for the outrage.

Well, the Iraqi forces are certainly not going to pull back from fighting ISIS in Mosul just to keep German civilians safe.
