Mental note: clever lines do not attract male attention

That is my experience lately. If you offer inane bits of info, you get it. If you offer cleverly set up lines you get bupkus.

*sigh*

This is very discouraging.

I am not following you. Can you be more specific? I need all the help I can get...... ~smiling~

Awww ...

Were it ever thus? It's easier to be inane than clever. Especially at 7 in the morning.

Well, you are talking about men. Not the brightest of the mammals, ya know.

:D

April, maybe if your attention is falling on deaf ears you should direct it elsewhere. *Shugs*

Estevie, you can't speak for all men. I mean, I'm here. ;P

We don't have to be bright. That's what the ladies are for. We just have to be ready and willing.

Not true.

Maybe with the young guns.

But us old bulls enjoy a little verbal bantering.

Sometimes it's just easier to start waving your arms around and scream "Hey, goddamit! I want your attention!!!"

What type of lines do I notice (as a male).

H--m-mm Certain avtars are resplendant in good lines. A woman saying, Hi how are you? or actually, pretty much anything that shows she notices me.:D

Then there are the more subtle lines. Standing in line near a lady, lining up for a kiss, drawing a line to cross, then a favorite of mine, lining up to ~have a good time, getting to 'know' her~ if you catch my drift, as obtuse as it sounds.

Yeah the best way to get a guy to notice you is to say "Hi." and smile. You are like in the door with that. I'm telling you, the smile really does the job.

Don't worry your pretty little head about it

Personally I prefer a smarter woman. Some guys don't, like everything else.

Put in for other people who might not know the obvious

Then again, maybe what you were saying wasn't as smart as you think!:p

Heh..put up pics,that works. ;)
I don't know that she means Lit. I think we've got a EuroZone issue, myself.

That reality is more comforting to my fragile male ego which is invested in the notion that intelligence is sexier than (boobs or) inane bits. You see, that allows me to believe that those who don't seem attracted to me are inane.

I'm sure that those who aren't finding something special in April's case are inane.

It depend on what kind of guy you want to attract... we can compare that to fishing, you take different kinds of bait to catch different kinds of fish. Same thing. :D

Lit is the venue. I'm just looking for a little verbal sparring once in a while.

I don't know how to explain it. I throw a line out there, and it sinks. Pathetically. Quickly. Oh well. I guess I just suck and am too stubborn to admit it. :p

:: perk :: You suck? well why didn't you just SAY so!

:D

Yeah, maybe it fell on closed ears (or eyes, for that matter), or maybe it just didn't make a great impression. My experience is that guys and dolls both enjoy the clever back-and-forth, and if some of them don't then boo-yah to them.

I have no problem with clever lines as long as it doesn't make me think too much or she explains it me to afterwards:)

Can you link to some examples of these quickly sinking lines? Maybe the men here can give you tips if they see what you thought would work.

So on the mark hun. Happened to me just this weekend. :D Well not the set up but intelligent remarks just fly out the door. ;) But it was fun all in all!
