Menstral sex is not that different. It is messy! And I find the female is much hornier. Of course more consideration is needed on the males part.

1 Emotions are running rampid sometimes.
2 Sensitivity is important, (meaning the female is more sensitive to pain, cramps and all) being aware of your partner.
3 Being polite when the lights come on. Also not freaking out by the blood bath.

Speaking as a woman, that time of the month does bring with it the MOST DELICIOUS sexual feelings imaginable. Makes me want to fuck like rabbits. It is very wet (whether the woman is turned on or not) and messy. May be a good idea to have it in the shower.

One aspect of it that I haven't seen mentioned is that, at least personally, having sex during my period actually prevents mentral cramps. It makes me much more relaxed and languid.

It is a little messy. But I do enjoy it.

There are ways to help contain the mess. My personal favorite is in the shower. I love to have sex in water and at the dreaded time of the month I get extremely horny and want sex all the time. Another way that we do sometimes is we lay an old washable sheet across the the bed or floor. Thank goodness I have a husband who will does not mind it either.
