I really would like to know what the men around here who are married or who have been married do around the house to help out.

Do/did you have a wife or partner that worked?

Do/did you have a wife who stayed home?

What were your typical duties around the home.

Don't lie. I want to know.

Or women who are or have been married - how did you and your spouse divy up the duties?

To misquote Rosanne Barr, I'm a regualr "Domestic God" around the house. I learned at an early age to wash my own clothes, dishes, and generally clean aorund the house. I also don't mind cooking.

Part time at home, and part time at a job outside the house.

My duties to take care and make sure everything is right in the house. It obviouslyt isn't going to be the same way anynmore, but I'll still be doing the house work in my home.

My hubby's very good with this. His regular chores include:

Litterboxes and trash (the night before trash pickup)
Laundry (see previous posts regarding his OCD for reasons why he got stuck with this)
Vacuuming (cuz I hate the vacuum)
Dusting the living room & dining room (kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms are mine, though. *grumbles*)

Generally speaking I cook and he does the dishes, but that's negotiable and we switch periodically.

He's also in charge of all lawn care and car maintenence.

i have a male submissive who comes over once a week dressed in a french maids uniform and does my cleaning and laundry and stuff.

Can we trade lives?

I'll take one of those...male or female.

but they'd take one look at my house and run screaming.

Marriage isn't in the cards for me, so I better do my own cleaning.

Man this thread has my name written all over it.

Just tonite I helped my wife do eight loads of laundry.

I cook dinner at least three nights a week for the boys and her so she doesnt have to when she gets home from work.

I do the shopping when she's tired....but shes better at it than me, I grab whatever looks good....I use a list, but she saves us money.

I do dishes every day all day....UGH.

I do all the Painting, outdoor work and car related stuff.

I am sortof a clean/organized nut...not a freak but I am always picking up the house.

I dont make messes.....I clean up after myself.

I clean the litter pans....A LOT.

Once a year when I am layed off I do a major cleaning of every room in the house......drawers closets, bathrooms, etc etc.

I'm pretty self sufficient, self contained and very low maintanence.

I do a lot around the house to help my wife out.

She is a workaholic, and when I proposed to her I told her that one of the main things I want to do for her is allow her the time and freedom to come home, put her feet up and do absolutely nothing.

;)

all you really need to do is put up an ad in the fetish section of your local paper and within days you'll have dozens of applicants.

My husband is very good about helping. He just did the dishes this morning after working a 12 hour shift so I would say he helps.

Well being in the business I am in, I only avtually need to work six hours a week (no shit chaps). My wife however works full time by choice, career woman. So I do all cleaning (90% of time) pick up and drop kids off at school, cook meals, hoover, wash dishes. Wife comes in has coffee made tea on table kids with home work done, so we can relax together and enjoy life.

Hell!

I'll have you know I RUN things around here!

washing machine, dishwasher, broom, mop, and whatever else needs it.

I'm single and throw a lot of parties, does he hire out?

I "owned" the kithen, garage and everything outside. I've always done the majority of the cooking and I always end up with the dishes (dishwashers are a wonderful thing! ;) ) as well as the grocery shopping.

My ex had the bathrooms, laundry and dry cleaning.

We usually ended up splitting the bedrooms and living room but it usually worked out that she dusted and I vacumed.

Yesterday when I was at school all day, I came home to discover that Mr. Mischka did the laundry, organized the guest closet, picked up the living room and dining room, cleaned our bathroom, and readied the sacks of CDs and books for Half Price.

We share duties, based on what needs to be done, and who's available. We're trying to make Sundays our official Grocery Shopping Day - we set the menu for the week and then shop together for the ingredients.
