I've noticed over the years that I do -- but there seems to be little scientifuic evidence for it -- I'm not even sure it's a real phenomenon.

Any other male people here have monthly cycles like that?

LOL

I wish!

I do seem to have a lunar insomnia cycle though. :(

Yes me too. My wife ( only half jokingly) calls me a werewolf. I definitely get awfully manic and antsy in a 'prox monthly cycle. I'm in that phase now. I couldnt sleep last night. I got up at 5 am this morning and went for a two hour, twelve mile run in the freezing rain. Feeling a bit better now.

More like annual cycles. I'm a lot more 'in the mood' in the Spring and early Summer, less around the winter solstice.

No lunar cycles here, but like a lot of people I do get more uninhibited on nights of the full moon. It's mostly a "when in rome" effect. :D

I used to do that, but it had nothing to do with the moon. If I got laid, but not again for a while, I would reach my peak of horniness in about two weeks. I don't mean I was lacking in interest before then - several times a day would have been my preference - but the peak was about two weeks. After that, it would decline slightly, but it wouldn't go away.

some evidence is cited for males with mental diseases, as to a monthly periodicity in symptoms.

starting in section II, p 122, about a third of the way through, the question of a male monthly cycle [or desire/activity] is examined. various (small) datasets are considered, often for a single individual, e.g. his nocturnal emissions.

despite a few researchers' [J Nelson, Perry-Coste, Von Roemer] claims of a monthly cycle, Ellis suspends judgment. he also notes the problem of *which* monthly cycle, e.g. 28 day and 29.5 days (full moon to full moon). there is some evidence of a weekly or yearly (seasonal) cycle.

it's to be noted that this is VERY old material being reviewed, dating to years before 1927.

there is a question whether to use data from married males. much of the data Ellis reviews is from singles. for married men, a male cycle may be entrained to the cycle of the female with whom he lives. if regular intercourse is the 'natural' state, perhaps married males should NOT be excluded, but ways would have to be found to partial out the female's cycle.
---

from personal experience, i don't know of any monthly or lunar cycle of desire/activity, but i haven't kept years of logs, either.

I've been horney since I was 12, don't think it has anything to do with the moon :D

OK, you can't be on planet earth, run by lunar cycles and not be tied to them. You might not recognize it but yes, men have lunar cycles too. (and if you have a doubt, ask the women in your lives)

I can tell when he's on the peak or at the very low.

No, I just turn into a wolf on the nights of the full moon... either that or just get drunk, I forget

Lunar my butt. Male cycles aren't in terms of days, they're more in terms of hours. All your partner is defining is her reaction to your mood swings. Women are from the moon, men are from the weather, i.e. chaotic!

I'm, inclined to agree with you unless, like Al, you are a werewolf. I don't believe a woman's period has anything to do with the moon either. The similar number of days is just a coincidence. If there were a connection, all the women in a particular city would have identical cycles, but they don't.

I'm a very scientific and sceptical person these days. It makes sense that being around a woman might introduce a sympathetic cycle of some sort.

Anyway, I tend to drink a lot of alcohol during these times -- last night my son who works in a bar brought me back a bottle of Mexican Patron and an incredible spiced rum, so I'm hung over this morning, what with the vodka.

he reason they don;t is because women aren;t exposed to daylight and moonlight enough. There's a thing called moon bathing - basically exposing oneself to moonlight - that regulates the cycle to the point where a woman's period will start with the full moon.

I tried moon bathing, but what with the weather, my appendage got frost bite.

The cycle is most obvious in drivers. Full moon driving standards depreciate alarmingly (you might not notice this as a city animal, S.Joe). As for horniness... I'm afraid I've kind of forgotten what that is. I'll make the Chicago meet one of these days for a refresher course.
