China Pearl OOC Inn
meijii inn will be a place for people to meet oldsters and newbies a like. Where they are never fully OOC or IC. Like all places where people gather there must be guidelines.
1. Have fun.
2. Respect others. This may be cyberspace but remember their real people out there with real feelings.
3. Communicate. Not only in words but also in the actions of your character.
4. No graphic sex, light teasing, innuendo. Certainly but nothing that would not be done in Public.
5. And off color remark every now and then is funny, but a steady stream is boring and offensive. Doubling meaning is so much better.
6. If not available to talk post yourself out.
That about does it for rules.
Concept:
The Inn. This is the common area of meeting and exchange where writers get to know each other. To become comfortable in each other's writing style, for new and old alike.
The ship. This is a training area for mentoring. Serious Mentoring, to develop communications, comfortable working relationship, and guidance from a vet to a newbie, not dictating. This takes the soul of a teacher, committed and dedicated.
Threads here will last no more than a week. If more time is need because of real world events then spin it off as a separate thread. Mentoring takes time and trust.
I will not describe the ship. It is in your mind eye and could be any thing from a modern liner, to a full rigger galleon. That is up to your imagination.
I want to make one thing very clear. This thread is not a soapbox for me or any one else! There is more than enough room for two saloons in this town. Bashing, or slamming will not be tolerated. If you don't like them then don't talk to them. What goes on outside of this places is the business of others not ours. If you can't do that then the bouncer will show you the door.
All and I mean all are welcome.
I want people to be able to move freely between each club without the feeling they are choosing sides. Just because I have real world differences with people dose not mean their personas are not welcome here.
I thank you all,
C.G. Raven
Ps
I can not find the words to express how much I love the "Café Americian......new OOC". It has bee C. G. Ravens' home sense coming to Lit.
"The meijii inn"
The little Inn lies tucked in a small cove along the South China coast, by the lighthouse on the point, the teahouse lies under the spreading Maple tree. A safe haven in times of storm and trouble.
She once was a grand lady in the days of sail, but now in need of a little repair. Not the kind of place the well healed would seek, but a haven for those with a colored past.
This is a time of integer, mystery, and passions running wild, of F. Scott, and the Great War done. A time of wandering and wounded souls. A place your minds see clearer, than any words could describe. A place of safety your hart longs for.
The bar is a crazy mixture of Far East meet West. Bar of Philippine Teak and foot rail of brass, there's worn leather chairs, the cent of Jasmine fills the air, bottles of red eye, pots of tea, German beer, and Jamaican Rum. The rest of the place I know can see.
So Old salts pull up a stool. Young rookie you come in to. The ship's at her pier and waiting for you. The cost of admission your favorite author and why.
The staff will be gathering and introducing the themselves.
