It is 2020, 7 years after they had last met....and 4 years after the global pandemic finished off the global economy and eventually brought a ruthless fanatic to power. He just happens to be that man himself, and while he has his principles, there's no point to having that much power if you don't use it.
He has decided to use his new leverage to make her his chief private companion. Oh, yes, the "companion" program, which he created to help boost a shrinking population....and to eradicate what remained of Victorian sexual mores. Marriage was obsolete, and he hoped to use the program to stamp it out once and for all.
The fact that he would now have her as his plaything for 4 years was just gravy. One of his 3 personal companions, which also included his former boss and the grown daughter of the stake president from his former Mormon church (of which he is naturally now an official apostate).
Generalissimo Ramsay Ross, Supreme Leader of the North American Union, will not let anything get in his way, whether it is conscription of women into public service as breeders or the enslavement of 3 women for whom he has lusted. His former colleagues and former co-religionist will soon learn this the hard way.
Not that he plans to be vicious. Just very much in command.
