Medieval Brothels and Infanticide

"Why did this child die? Why was it not buried in a cemetery"

1. Because it was born out of wedlock and considered a bastard and the Roman Catholic Church would not have allowed the baby to be interred in sacred ground.
2. Because the child may not have been baptized and again, the Roman Catholic Church would not have allowed the baby to be interred in sacred ground.
3. Burying the baby in the floor was less expensive than bribing a priest for a spot in a churchyard.
