Hi, I wrote a story last year, This Is For Science, Tilly (anal), and I'm working on a longer sequel.

The thing is, I have no idea how to categorize it. I classified it as anal, but the new one isn't quite as focused on ass-stuff, and more focused on the medical fetishism. But the thing is, it's just as much about the sex as the equipment and the situation, so saying it's a 'fetish' story seems reductionistic. Any suggestions?

Hello. Maybe you could pick a category and put an author note at the top of the story giving readers an idea of what to expect. That way people could back click if it isn't for their taste and, hopefully, you won't get punished with a one bomb (which you probably would if people expected something else).

Also, you can make use of the keyword tags when you submit the story, so if people do a search on "medical" or "speculum" or what-have-you, your story will pop up.

I have had very good luck driving away trolls with introductions along the lines that Jomar suggests. If people open a story expecting one thing and reach the end not having seen it, they can get a mite grumpy. But if they know going in, you're much more likely to get only the readers who are actually interested in the sort of story you've written. It's not perfect - there isn't a category that will attract all the people who might be interested in your kind of work - but it's probably the best you'll be able to do.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go look up the word "reductionistic."

Why in the world would you want to drive away the trolls. They are always good for a laff.
