Medal or Munchie?

So what do you think of the 2006 Olympic Medals? Many people think they look like donuts or bagels.

Personally I think they look pretty good. More modern than just a traditional round disk with a ribbon on top.

Are they cost-cutting? I'd imagine the hole in the middle would mean less gold...

First I've seen of these.
If they compare in size and weight then I think they actually look better than the old ones.

I don't think there really is a standard weight. Last Olympics, 2002 Salt Lake, were the heaviest ever at about 20 ounces. Most are half that or so. But the weight really only makes a difference in the Gold. Silver and Bronze are so cheap that the cost is negligible.
