I haven't said this to anyone in feedback, but does it bother other people when bang in the first paragraph people write 34-24-34 (or something to that effect? As using the metric system, I can't be bothered to convert) and blonde.

I don't mind the fantasy thing about getting across to the reader that she is blonde, fuckable and shaven, and setting the background for the story in the first paragraph, but can I make the suggestion that you describe the person rather than stating statistics?

I have read stories where they strongly hint at things and leave it to the imagination of the reader, and I enjoy this more.

But I wilfully admit that I may be one in a Zillion.

Statistics

Hi, Wishful.
I always describe the people involved in the story and sometimes I say somethiung like "She had large breasts" or "Her brerasts were small", or other description but I would never give any figures because I don't think that way and I think most men don't. Sometimes I write a story about a specific woman reader and if she asked me to use statistics, I would. I do give her height in terms of feet and inches and sometimes I even mention her weight but never "34-34-35" or whatever.

Yes wishful, I totally agree, and you are "with" the zillion who do not like that, at least on these boards as that is the number one piece of advice you see here when anyone gives feedback.

At first when I started reading here I thought it was a male thing, done by men because they liked that incremental visual, or done for men to catch their interest.

But, here on the boards you will hear any number of men suggest they do not like it.

Really even the tried and true Playboy Forum Letters never do that. Although, I heard a theory that Playboy made their forum letters for women......

Now I wonder what the ratio of stories is here with 34-24-34 type measurements written by men as opposed to stories written by women

I thought I replied, but I think it has gone to cyberspace.

Not only do I see males describing who they are about to do, but also females go something like "and I look like ...34-24-34".

I don't know if this is a comfort thing, when not sure how to start a story, or it is just a setting the scene kind of thing.

I don't mind things like height being described, but I prefer it when you say something like - she barely reached my chin. Boring, I know, but for me it is a visual thing, about visualising other peoples fantasies, and this helps me more than a stat would.

If I see numbers, I click Back. I'm not interested in any story where the author's idea of character exposition is how many inches their breasts, penises, or heights are.

Wishful--

You just missed a discussion of this very topid ina thread called "Qualitative not Quantitative" in the Author's Hangout. Here's a link if you want to have a look:

In my opinion giving numerical values for measurements, penis length, cup size (another author favorite), &c. is a pretty good indicator of rank amateurism. Sure there are exceptions to this rule, but for the most part when an author has to revert to numbers it's because his descriptive powers have failed him, so he falls back on a police blotter-style description: 6'2", 180 lbs, piercing blue eyes, long black hair, &c. &c. Like Rainbow says, numerical measurements are often a backclick trigger for me.

Specific numbers are a no-no

I totally agree with dr. M. It just isn't necessary, and usually has me back-clicking, too.

If you are attempting to set scene, why can't you say "she" was tall, rounded, well-toned, slender, small, sweet, shy or untouchable?

Or that he was hard, strong, tall, small, muscular, effeminate, weak-chinned, whatever?

I think you can easily convey the mood without resorting to specific numbers. Besides, unless the characters have measuring tapes handy, how in the hell will they even know what the other person's measurements are when they are supposedly meeting them for the first time?

Let's attempt believability!

(I'm not mentioning the average 14 inch dick size in many stories - not even going there!)

:p

Thanks for that, will check out that thread. Goes to show you must be on the ball in this place.

As to SSS - (I'm not mentioning the average 14 inch dick size in many stories - not even going there!)

I must be reading the wrong stories. The biggest I've come across is 12 inch!

Personally I try to avoid as much physical description as possible. The concept is to get the reader to internalize the story, make it their own. I would rather draw lines and let the reader paint the colors.

I dont usually describe charactors in my stories , maybe eye color and hair color. Thats because I have this eye fetish ... lol when Im fucking someone I look into his/her eyes the whole time. So when I write about it thats what I describe ... and now Im going to comb over my stories to see if I do excessively long descriptions! Sometimes I describe the clothing they are wearing.... but never do the 34 26 36 thing as I myself am a BBW and dont live in a
34 26 36 world. :p :D

I prefer to get the setting out quickly, to let the mind's eye fill in the detail and start the story. But the only time you would catch me describing a fantasy as a blonde is if it was based on real life. Blondes bore me, much rather have a brunette with hair down to her butt in loose curls.

Welcome WorldClassPerv

Hope you find Lit forums interesting! I just actively started reading and posting and am finding the people are really friendly!!

Specific Measurements

A lot of my stories are written about specific women who have asked me to write a story about them. I use their first names in the story such as "I Call on Lotchie", "Karen's Birthday", etc. I always include their height and weight, if they tell me, hair color, and whatever measurements they give me. Also tattoos and individual things like that. The action in the stories is always what they like to do, in ways they like and in places they like. Then they can print the story and show it to people and say it is about them, and "prove" it by the descriptions. I thiink most women, though, just keep it to themselves and maybe share it only with a boyfriend or someone close like that.

It's fun for them and fun for me to write about them, and
