Hi
I am new to this website and posted a story recently. When I see my story I see 4 symbols next to it.
1. Story rating
2. Number of views
3. Number of times it has been marked favorite
4. There is a fourth icon with a small box with few lines in them
Can someone please explain what this fourth icon stands for, and how to get more information on the number associated with it.
Regards

Not quite sure which page you're referring to, but on your Control Panel it's Favourite, Views, Score, and Number of Comments.

Do you mean the "comments" icon? If so, it tells you how many have commented on the story.

If you hover your cursor over those Icons, a Tool-tip should appear telling you what they are.

Understanding the Symbols

I get that a letter 'H' in a red square indicates "Hot"

I also get that a letter 'N' in a yellow box denotes a new story and a 'W' in a light blue box denotes a winner of one contest or another.

What I don't understand is what justifies a "Hot" symbol next to one story versus another or how long a story is considered to be "New".

Is there an explanation posted somewhere here?

From the site's FAQ:

https://literotica.com/faq/05315902.shtml#05314870

What do the colored icons beside stories mean?

The yellow NEW's (New) denote stories which have recently been published on Literotica.com.

The red H's (Hot) denote stories which have received 10 or more votes from readers, and maintain an average vote of 4.5 out of 5 or better.

The yellow E's (Editor) denote "Editor's Choice" stories. These are pieces that we really like - just our opinion.

The green W's (Winner) are next to stories that have been chosen by readers as winners in our Monthly, Yearly, or Special contests.

In the future, we may add other icons. As we do, we'll add them to the FAQ.

I wish the Bookmarks and Favorites would be combined. Seperating them makes too many icons on the Hub.

how long a story is considered to be "New".

The latest stories posted are date marked 11/20. If you click on 'more new stories' blue bar after the first batch, they get listed out to 11/14. In fact, if you go to Lesbian today, you will see 2 stories show up at the bottom on 'more new stories' marked 11/13 that are not tagged "New".

The fourth icon you mentioned is the number of lists related to your story. These can be reading lists or all time favorites lists.
