MC lied when agreeing him and wife can have occasional sex with others

Before the male MC marries the woman he loves, she tells him that, like her parents, she wants a marriage where they can each have occasional one-night dalliances with people they like. It’s only sex and won’t impact the marriage plus it would be no more than 2-3 times a year.

MC loves her so much he agrees but he’s hoping he can make her so satisfied that she doesn’t want to exercise the option.

After 10-12 years and a couple of children, she asks for a night out with a friend that will include sex. He says no. She reminds him he agreed before they married. He said he lied because he loved her so much, he would have agreed to anything to get her to marry him. She’s pissed that he lied and she’s wasted those years when she could have married a more open-minded partner.

Somewhere in there, her father confronts him and king hits him for lying to his daughter.

Lots of conversational back and forth but later, she has to go on a week-long training course and MC’s mother-in-law comes over to cook and clean for him. She seduces him (with father-in-law’s knowledge) as she’s long had the hots for him. MC spends the week having good sex with her.

MC realises that sex and marriage can be separate and they all live happily ever after.

A story with the same premise is fine. Inspiration is where you find it. It only becomes a copyright issue when the plot is identical or their characters are used. Take the idea, make it your own. You'd be hard pressed to find a story here that is wholly original or isn't inspired by another.
