maytag dishwahser recall: potential fire hazard

people that watch the news may have already known about this, but I hadn't heard anything until I saw a big ad in sunday's parade magazine, which I just read today.

there's been a recall of certain models of maytag and jenn-air dishwashers that were sold at appliance and department stores and by homebuilders natonwide between july 1997 through june 2001. in the affected models, liquid rinse-aid can leak from the dispenser and come into contact with the dishwasher's internal wiring. the wiring can short-circuit and ignite, posing a fire hazard.
