Maybe it's a good thing I don't have my old Impala anymore. I would end up getting in trouble if I did.

First off the impala in question was a 1974 Chevy Impala with the 400 Big Block Engine. (Translated it didn't like going past gas stations.)

When I had bought the car I had modified it a bit.

Because of my penchant for going down dirt roads my father and I bolted on a full length perforated skid plate.

Because the car didn't have a front bumper when I bought it I replaced the OEM Bumper with a railroad tie.

Now the reason I would get in trouble down here with this car is because of how some people like to enter traffic here in south Florida. The drivers, usually young, hang their left arm out the window and signal their intent by flipping you off while pulling out in front of you at speed. This results in you locking up your brakes to avoid hitting them.

A good example of this happened this morning. A young pup in a nice shiny Camaro pulled out in front of me while flipping me off. I locked up the brakes on my car so I wouldn't hit the S.O.B. as he straightened out in front of me and took off.

Now if I was still driving that old Impala I wouldn't have bothered hitting the brakes. I would have just punted his young ass into the canal alongside the road. The only damage my car would have received was a ittle crunching of the Tie.

Like I said, maybe it's a good thing I don't have that car anymore.
