Over the last nine months I have made friends from this site that I would consider doing anything within reason for.

On another thread today I stated that I would gladly spend the money on air fare to go meet someone, and she is someone that I have only ever conversed with on the board.

I was wondering if there is anyone from here that you would love to meet and have a coffee with? If you had to, would you spend the money to do this? How far would you consider travelling?

I am NOT asking people to name names on this thread, I was just wondering if any of you would spend the time and effort to go meet people you converse with on a daily basis.

Yes, several without a doubt.

The wife and I also have gotten to know some folks we would go see at any cost....................................

Without a doubt! I can think of several just off the top of my head that I would love to meet in RL, have coffee with or whatever. I would cross the ocean for one in particular :)

YEP.....

MOST indubitably...don't have to list...knows who HE is...;)

See that's my point. I would spend any amount to see one Particular person (I'm pretty sure you all know who), but you see I love him, so I'd be more than willing to do that.

What I'm asking is if you would spend money to meet people from THIS site. I'm not sure that I would travel across the ocean for any of you (sorry), but if you were in my neck of the woods then I'd take the time and spend the money to meet you.

I'd love to meet you all but, the money aspect of it makes it hard. If I was in the States I'm sure I would have met up with more than one of you by now. Maybe even done the whole reunion thing.

Anyway I was just wondering.

Yes, if I had any money, there are a few people I would travel to meet, even if it were to just sit and talk over a cup of coffee. Two in particular & I think you know who you are.

Absolutely!

Two very special people: both know who they are and that I would put myself at considerable risk to meet either of them in person if only for lunch.

Yes, and he is from this site. I would do everything in my power to meet him if it was possible, and he has said he would do the same.
Could we switch countries Nicole? He's from Australia too. I live in the U.S. That way we could both be with the one's we truly love!

Oh Sweetie if I could I would. Believe me it would solve a lot of problems for me.

So you love an Aussie eh?? Well babe I wish you all the luck in the world and I hope he makes you as happy as my love makes me.

Yes, there is one person on this board I would go through hell and high water for.

When I said yes there were several, I meant from this board.

Yeppers, several from here that I'd be willing to meet for dinner,,, one VERY special lady that I'd meet for dinner and more

I'm sure we'd all love to meet various people from Lit. I know I would. But I think the question is, essentially, would you take a few days out of your life, away from work and family, and spend quite a few hundred dollars on airfare and hotel, not to mention the money you'd lose from not working, and the inconveniece to your busy life, to go and meet someone you've only known through his or her typing skills? Saying, "Sure, I'd meet you." is a lot different from, "Sure, I'll spend half my savings and uproot my life for a week to meet you."

My answer is, no, I wouldn't. I can't afford the money, or the time. That's not reflection on any of you, it's just the reality of the situation.

I'm also blessed with a settled life. I have friends and family, so I don't often seek out new ones, and when I do I usually do so it's through a show, a class, or mutual acquaintance, not by flying thousands of miles away, hoping all the while that I haven't just spent a fortune to sleep on a psycho's futon.

But, would I meet some of you if I happened to be in the city anyway? Yes, I surely would.

That's how I took it too.

Absolutely, there are many people here if we happened to be nearby, coffee or lunch would be a definate. But really, there is one person I would disrupt my life for.

Yes I would travel far to meet people from this site. those of you who knows me, also know that I already have.

And yes there is one here I'll go through hell and high water for.

I am with DCL on this one...I can't afford to do that, and I don't think I know anyone on here well enough...because now someone will bring the Canada guy up *cringe*.

I did uproot my life, and I spent thousands of dollars on seeing him...but I also talked to him online daily for a year, on the phone almost daily for about 10 months...that's a bit different than just conversing sporadically on the board or email or ICQ...which is all I have done with anyone on this board (oh, except when I actually did get a call from one person...but he pressured me, honest :D ) Now, if I got to know someone a LOT better, I might save the money to do something like this...but at this juncture in my life, it would take some doing to save the money. I've known this guy online (not from here) for over two years now...we formed a very special bond, and almost met...things fell through. I may travel to see him, and if I do, I might hook up with some people that live near him...don't know...but, it's a BIG maybe. Especially since he'll be coming here in about 6 months anyway.
