a quick question

before answering the poll, I am wondering what the critiria you set is......ie: what is considered older/younger 5yrs difference, 10 yrs or more??

just a question that popped into my head

Well I can speak from experience being the "oldest" on here...and I dont think years make any difference...right now I'm involved in a relationship with a young man 36 years younger than me and have had several with men 20 years younger or more...of course it helps if you have a young attitude and are still interested in the "finer" things in life!:p

I have been involved in a relationship with a woman 11 years older than myself and found that age made no difference, we had much in common and were comfortable with the relationship, so actually I could still take the poll, but I was just wondering what the person who started the thread had in mind. :)

In my opinion age should not be a factor in any relationship, love and understanding should take more precedence. After all, you are only as young/old as you feel ;)

I agree WildRose69 if you think old you are old. I have had relationships with women many years younger than myself. He said carefully as not to date himself. Perhaps it is the gentleness, the attention to foreplay, the endurance, the caring, the romance, the passion, the experience of a older lover that keeps them interested. I personal seldom find a gal my age that I'm compatible with. I'm not interested in hearing about aches and pains. We all have them. I would prefer to hike up a mountain. The sunsets are truely beautiful up there. :D Well, it back to perparing Thanksgiving dinner. To all have a great Holiday!

I dont think there is a right or wrong answer to this.

There is nothing wrong with a relationship that involves people of different ages as long as its real. And that these people want the same things.

For example,if you are the older person and the younger person has kids, what do you do?

Or if you are the younger, eventually the other is gonna get older and have everything happen that happens when we age. Can you handle it?

Ageing..................

As always lovetoread your intellict forces me to think deeper into the subject:)

As far as raising children are concerned. I would like to think this question came up in casual conversation before starting a family. I could also like to think that both partners are mentally and physically competent to raise children. However, that in itself could be the subject of another interesting thread!

As far as the aging process or as the golden years approach. I would think that the two people would be so much in love that those golden years would go un noticed. That word love is not a word you hear said to much now days! One of my favorite movies is On Golden Pond :) But I guess it's that dam romantic side of me?

Oh, Lovetoread. Some of use are not planning to go quietly off into the night any time soon :D :D :D

May/December relationship

I love older men. I seem to always go for the older man. As long as the parties involved are adults I do not see a problem. I like my wine aged also and older men are like fine wine. Am I missing something with men my age or younger than I am? No, I have been there and they, as a whole, cannot compare to older men. It works for me. Maybe not for everyone but I love to be on the arm of an older man! And in his arms!!

I've always thought that outlook, maturity and compatibility have much more to do with a relationship than the age difference.

Age is just a physical feature.

I say Yes ...but

I'm currently in a relationship with an older man, I'm 28 , he is 44. Not my first older man relationship either, last one was 12 years difference.
I'm a believer in age only being a number, its in how you connect/relate/etc , not what your ages add up to , all those things. There is one thing that plays on my mind a bit when in these type of relationships.. I dont want to be a widow or even back on the single scene when I'm only in my 40's & doing & going thru all the things I have these last few years. My insecurities, fears of being alone rearing their ugly head there, I know!
They say you are only as old as the person you feel... *Rubbing sore back & searching for haemorroid cream* hehe :D

Always loved older women

My wife is five years older; many of my old girlfriends were older. My first wife was younger, but that didn't work out too well (we won't go into her being unable to get out from under her mama's skirttails). Older women are wonderful! It's no big deal! Besides, the sex is absolutely FANTASTIC! No need for instruction as with a younger woman.
Women are most fascinating between the ages of thirty-five and forty, after they have won a few races and know how to pace themselves. Since few women ever pass forty, maximum fascination can continue indefinitely.- Christian Dior

Love does not discriminate on age differances.Weither it be 1 year or 20,its for those who are involved with each other that matters. My wife is 13 years younger and we've been together now for 10 years and still going strong.
