She watches him as he stands at his window, totally nude. As if unaware that anyone walking by, or looking up can see him. Or maybe just not caring.

She smiles a bit, that wicked little smile she sometimes gets, and inserts her key into the lock of the apartment complex. She goes to her apartment which is a floor up and two over from Max's.

He does not know her, yet. She has observed him many times before. She intends to get to know him. She starts by writing a brief note and sliding it in his mail slot.

"Maxwell. I would be disappointed, but you really should put up curtains. See you around. G."

Her name is Gina. She is in her mid thirties. Not shy, not a bit inhibited. Very open, direct and somewhat of a hedonist. Her short blonde hair is curly, and her eyes are dark blue and so direct that they are sometimes disconcerting.

Max is mid forties. He is a writer, who is often inside his own head. He is having trouble with a complex character, and needs some distraction.

Who wants to danse?

Max

Checking my mail late that night as I returned from the neighborhood bar, I expected a bunch of junk mail, forgetting that Id already cleaned t out earlier. These days everything ran together and it was hard to keep track of time. There was a single small envelope. I looked at it and in feminine handwriting, was the name Maxwell. Opening it, there was a note signed "G', telling me to put up curtains.

What's this all about?, I asked myself. And who is "G"?

Then I realized that she must be a neighbor on one of the other units, and she must have seen me through my window, where I was less than careful about appearing undressed. Maybe I embarassed her, or shocked her.I guess I should be more careful, but after all the hassle with my ex-wife I just hadn't cared.

I guess I should, as other people might be, and apparently are- offended. I knew I needed to be more careful. But - who is "G"? ,I wondered?
