Maximum number of characters in a title

I checked the FAQ and didn't find the answer.

Does anybody know the maximum number of characters possible in a title for a submitted story?

Not sure, but it won't let you put in more than is allowed.

It's a smaller number than the characters in "The Private Journal of Mr. Alexander Pope." I know that

Not sure but a quick with a quick look I found a few over 30, not including spaces. Figure 36 maybe w/ spaces?

That field is small, and so is the keywords field. I think the subtitle ("description") field is a tad small, too.

The HTML field for the title specifies a maximum length of 35.
I dunno what the backend database takes...
