I don't write as much as I used to, but I write my characters in all ages, and more of them older than younger.

I struggled to embrace things early in life and missed many opportunities with older women when younger (silly me)... Now it is the physical and mental side that mature ladies have that gets me going and coupled with the fact they really know how to use it. Add in the fact they would let you have control of them and 'phwoar' what a potent concoction!

To be fair, it's a sort of dialect and the population that uses it most regularly tends to skew young. Not all, by any means, but the tendency is there. It's entirely possible that you haven't had quite as much contact with native speakers lately as before.

That's just a factor of demographics, as there are a boatload of women reaching 50 and beyond who reached maturity during and shortly after the sexual revolution of the sixties and seventies. And a fair portion of that fiction will revolve around bdsm-y themes because it's an easy way for a writer to show that her protagonist is taking big sexual risks or going beyond her comfort zone.

For a long time i was really ambivilant about my real age within my stories. I felt-- still do half the time-- like an eighteen year old, only more experienced. And from what I see of women's reading and writing commnunities, that's a very common syndrome.

If I got into this I would end up writing a 30k essay.

I've asked a few female authors when will they start writing about major characters over 50. They said they can't sell books with stories whose characters are over 50.. I say bs. Stella, I thought you were younger. Glad we're in the same age group.
