I’m a mature CD that has been dressing up since I was a young teen. But it wasn’t until I was in my 40’s that I acted on my attraction to men. It was also at that time I began to dress up more often and more fully like a woman. I’m at a place now where I fully dress with makeup, wig etc and have a friend I see on a fairly regular basis when the wife is away.

All of this makes me think about how my life would be if I begin HRT with the goal of living my life as a woman. I have never met anyone that has done so at my mature age (over 60) so I’m very interested in other’s experience. Particularly how successful they were achieving feminine beauty and what effective HRT had on their body.

Any girls out there who want to share?

I have actually met many trans women who didnt start their transition into their 50s and 60s. It is not all that uncommon. You'd be pleasantly surprised by the amount of physical change you can get on HRT at any age.

What you might be seeing is girls who have taken estrogen to soften their features, had breast implants then tinkered with their dose and walked a hormonal tightrope between male horniness and female softness and then taken viagra for the camera. Taking estrogen won't stop your body producing testosterone, only lower the amount in your body.

Generally speaking, kiss goodbye to morning wood and 'Hello' to floppy orgasms, assuming you'll still feel the need. Sexual desire changes quite markedly, but once you've effectively gone through a second puberty ( think emotional rollercoaster of mood swings, tears, depression ) then you do reach a more wholesome female-style desire in contrast to the red mist of typical male horniness.

I'd say transitioning is about inner peace first and sex sometimes doesn't feature.

But that brings it back to looking for medical supervision, checking your hormone levels as you go. You need to be careful what you put in the tank or you'll wreck the engine!

I can't personally speak to what happens as a trans woman ages, but my wife was on hormones for almost a decade before we met. (She was about 26, started estrogen as a teen, started Spiro at 18)

She definitely still had a libido, was able to get and hold an erection, and was even able to conceive a child.

Never say never, I guess but it's widely reported that erections and their size diminish with hormones. Many trans women don't like their genitals and so the absence of morning wood is a big relief. I never wanted male genitals and never felt happy with them and though they weren't the source of my dysphoria, they sure didn't help. When I was younger I was kinda self-adsorbed and I couldn't get my head around the idea that some trans women felt okay with their bodies. It's been something I've grown to understand & accept.

I am sure that you have seen pics of my gf. She is rather unique in the sense that she doesn't take hormones and is content with her body. The only thing she wanted were breast implants, about which she said later, "gave me confidence as a woman." Which I think is really what it is all about.

probably not true for everyone but if your luck runs like mine odds are against you...lol... There are a lot of gorgeous female impersonators out there that are not on HRT..that maybe had some breast work done to round out the image.

I had a interesting related experience. I was dating a Thai tranny in Sacramento, Ca. He/She wanted breasts and was taking hormones of some type. To get the breasts faster she doubled up on the hormones and appeared to lose his need for sex. I didn't care that she didn't have tits. I liked sucking on his nipples regardless. I prefer what has worked for tens of thousands of years. What we are supposed to use now tells us nothing and even less. If it muddies the water it is useless. Just my opinion.
