The Holiday of Holidays
There are holidays for presidents,
Groundhogs and Lovers.
The calendar honors Halloween,
Fathers and mothers.
Now take out your date book.
Find the section for May;
Mark down a celebration so special
It's awarded a month plus a day!
This holiday is unique -
No feasts, parades or an elf;
For the 7th day of this month
Calls for a gift to oneself.
Some holidays are limited
To a particular nation or state;
But here is one that's followed
By all who masturbate.
Masturbation Day is commemorated
By individual and personal picks -
Toys, videos, a scented candle,
Use imagination to get your kicks.
Spread the word! Tell your friends!
Try e-mail or the phone;
Raise the flag! Independence is declared!
Time to set off fireworks of your own.

Happy Masturbation Day!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are many reasons to tickle your own fancy during the merry month of May, but the best reason surely has to be the celebration of the
National Masturbation Month.
The celebration kicks off with NATIONAL MASTURBATION DAY. Spend quality time with yourself throughout the day-call in late to work or extend your lunch break and spend it masturbating! Curl up for the evening with your favorite toy or video and lavish some well-deserved attention on yourself -- indulge your fondest fantasy and your favored technique. Remember: "If you want something done right, do it yourself!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Why Masturbate?

Because masturbation is immensely pleasurable, invigorating, rejuvenating and fun.

Because masturbation proclaims that sex is good in, by, and for itself.

Because masturbation makes you a better lover.

Because you can have more sex more often.

Because sexual pleasure is each person's birthright.

Because masturbation is the ultimate safe sex.

Because masturbation is a joyous expression of self love.

Because masturbation offers numerous health benefits including menstrual cramp relief, stress reduction, endorphin release, stronger pelvic muscles, reduction of prostate gland infection for men and resistance to yeast overgrowths for women.

Because masturbation is an excellent cardiovascular workout.

Because each person is their own best lover.

Because masturbation with a partner can be educational and hot.

Because masturbation increases sexual awareness.

Just thought incase anyone wasn't aware, they are now... :) :) :D :D

That's a holiday I will be in full support of. So we should do some sort of celebration for it though, like a kick off celebration or something.

Birth Of National Masturbation Month

In 1995, Good Vibrations invented National Masturbation Month in protest of the firing of Clinton appointed U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Joycelyn Elders. Elders lost favor in the administration when she responded to questions about safer sex by saying that "Masturbation is something that perhaps should be taught". Elders' statement was both practical and supported by sex-positive sex educators everywhere. The folks at Good Vibrations realized that the conservative factors that booted Elders from office were making sex less safe and fun by making masturbation seem shameful. And what better way to make masturbation more visible and accessible than to give it its own month of fun events and education. Why did they choose May for this blessed month?

Because "the merry, merry month of May" has long been seen as symbolizing sexual awakening. Also, because "May" and "masturbation" both start with "M" -- it's nice and alliterative.

Since it's inception National Masturbation Month has been written about far and wide. Almost 10,000 articles show up in a Google search. Some are critical and embarrassed, but most spread the word about the joys of this fun solo sport. Good Vibrations has continued to support this worthy cause, creating a Masturbation Hall-Of-Fame where you can find the everyone from Carol Queen and Joani Blank to Jamie Lee Curtis and Claire Danes.

**Just because I want to pass on what I've read**

A New Way To Masturbate

Now here's an article for guys who wants to know a new way to masturbate.

First off, if you don't live alone, lock the door.

Lie on your side and hold on to your penis with a backhand grip. Roll over farther and brace your hand against the bed, and thrust your penis in and out of your hand.

It's a different feeling to masturbate because your pelvis is moving rather than your hand.

You could add to the feeling by putting your other hand down to feel your scrotum moving back and forth as you pump in and out.

Another hit is the "Rosey Palm." Rub the tip of your penis with lubrication, your mom's cooking oil oughta do it, against the palm of your other hand. The orgasm should be pretty good.

More info...

Almost everyone masturbates, but all too few of us are willing to admit to enjoying this simple pleasure -- mostly because of the taboo against masturbation in our society, which has its roots in historical misconceptions that have survived to the present day. Concerns about masturbation tend to fall into two general categories: that masturbation is dangerously wasteful or that it's immature. The notion that masturbation is wasteful springs from the widespread misconception that men have a finite allotment of sperm and that every ejaculation depletes precious semen, resulting in exhaustion and weakness. Although women don't produce semen, it was once believed that masturbation was similarly destructive and debilitating to them. The belief that masturbation is such a dangerous drain on energy that it can lead to enfeeblement, illness and ultimately insanity was so persistent in 18th, 19th and even 20th century Europe and America that treatments for preventing masturbation became something of an obsession.

Turn-of-the-century magazines featured advertisements for penile rings which were spiked on the inside so that if the wearer experienced an erection during the course of the night, he'd wake from the pain. Bondage belts, restraints, straitjackets, cauterizing irons and even clitoridectomy (the surgical excision of the clitoris) were all methods used to prevent young women from masturbating. American health reformers of the 19th century preached, as in these words from John Kellogg, that masturbation was "the vilest, the basest and the most degrading act that a human being can commit."

Although most men and women today are aware that masturbation isn't a "degrading act," many are still constrained by the notion that it's a selfish, immature activity or a second-rate substitute for partner sex. We live in a society in which sexual expression has always been legislated and restricted and the pursuit of pure pleasure is frequently condemned as selfish and childish. A lot of people who consider themselves free of sexual hang-ups have simply rewritten the equation "sex is only good if it involves procreation" to "sex is only good if it involves two loving people." The fact that masturbation is a pleasurable end in itself gets short shrift in mainstream sex manuals, which focus on masturbation as a useful tool in the building of a better sex life with one's partner. While it's certainly true that masturbation provides valuable information about your own and your partners' sexual responses, masturbation is much more than a means to the exalted end of better partner sex. Masturbation is our first sexual activity, a natural source of pleasure that's available to us throughout our lives, and a unique form of creative self-expression. Each time you masturbate, you're celebrating your sexuality and your innate capacity for pleasure, so give yourself a hand!

While giving yourself pleasure may seem as natural as taking a breath, masturbation is by no means a widely accepted form of sexual activity. Today, in many parts of the world (including the U.S.) children are punished if they are caught masturbating, which can affect their sexuality for the rest of their lives. Adults in cultures across the globe are presented with heterosexual marriage as the only acceptable form of sexual expression. Masturbation is not honored as an important form of safer sex, much less as a way a person can love herself, learn about himself, or exercise, as one wonderful Chinese euphemism puts it, "self-comfort."

Masturbation can be a radical act, and the culture that suppresses masturbation may suppress many other personal freedoms as well. While celebrating National Masturbation Month and doing your part to bring self love out of the closet, keep in mind that erotic freedom is essential to true well-being, everywhere.

A How To...

How do women masturbate? Most women orgasm from stimulation of the clitoris. Many others can only orgasm from vaginal penetration or G-Spot stimulation. Remember, there is no wrong or right way to masturbate, everyone is different and we all respond differently.

First, Relax as much as you can. Ensure your privacy; lock your door, turn off the phone, make sure you are alone. Find a comfortable position. Most women start out lying on their backs, legs bent and spread apart, with feet on the bed or floor. Remove some or all of your clothing; whatever feels right for you.

2. Explore your body. Run your hands along all parts of your body, lingering along areas that are more responsive to touch than others. Many women have very sensitive nipples and can orgasm from nipple stimulation alone. Look at your genitals in a mirror if that is “your thing” -- if you feel shy about that -- that’s okay too. Caress the different parts to see what feels extra good to you. You'll know it when you find it. Touch your inner and outer labia, your clitoris, your vagina and your perineum. See “Your Vagina”, if you are new to this and to your anatomy.

3. Touch. Using one or two fingers, rhythmically stroke the different parts of your vulva, paying particular attention to your clitoris and labia. Use your fingers to pull your vulva apart and gently open your vagina. Experiment with different types of pressure, speed and motion. Try placing a finger on either side of the clitoris and stroking up and down, or placing two fingers on the clitoral hood and rubbing in a circular motion. Place a finger in your vagina and experiment from there.

4. Experiment. Try different types of touch: stroke, knead, pinch, or lightly pull your genitals and nipples. Try using one or several fingers, or the palm of your hand. You'll find out what you prefer.

5. Fantasize. Recall an exciting previous sexual encounter or focus on that guy you have a crush on. If you need some extra help, look at a sexy magazine, think about your dream-date or read an erotic story. Allow your mind to wander.

6. Build up. Learn to hold onto sexual excitement by building up and then reducing or temporarily stopping the stimulation. Pay attention to how your body is responding. It will tell you the particular stroke that feels best and when to pick up or slow down the tempo.

7. Breathing. Breathing is important to excitement. Breathe deeply rather than hold your breath. This helps release the sexual energy, rather than fight it. Rock your pelvis as you would during intercourse. Rhythmically clench and release your PC muscle (inserting a vibrator can help too). See kegel exercises for more on PC muscle work.

8. Going over the edge. If your hand gets tired, give yourself a rest, switch hands, or try a vibrator. If you're on the brink of orgasm, but can't quite get there, try altering your breathing, or focusing on a really hot fantasy. Give yourself extra stimulation: caress your nipples, or try also thrusting your other fingers or a dildo in and out of your vagina. (But, don't overdo it either).

9. Ride the wave and enjoy. As you begin to orgasm, continue the stimulation lightly through the orgasm, or stop if it feels like it's too intense. Lighten up on the stimulation during the first extremely sensitive moments but keep it going to enjoy those little pleasurable aftershocks. Your first orgasm may feel like a blip or a blast, but the more you practice, the more variety you will experience.

10. Don't worry. If you don't orgasm on your first try. Keep practicing, or try some of the variations below. Practice the breathing technique making sure you are breathing from your belly, but don't pass out.

Practice, practice, practice. With a bit of time you will orgasm! If you are get sore, give yourself some time to heal.

For those afraid to ask but needed to know... I'm sure you are out there... :)
