If we can generate enough interest we will arrange a meeting time and place, and some guidelines to go along with the experience. OK, well the club I was with was co-ed. Also, it wasn't just close friends. It was made up of people who met online. We kept a lot of annonymity by using first names only, communicating by email and meeting at hotels.

It's a cool idea, but I think you will have more success if you don't even think about inviting your long time buddies - unless you've talked about doing it and they are *up* for it....

Since 9/11, hotels/motels ask for ID when paying with cash. Perhaps that is one of the "complications". I'd go if I was assured anonymity

We used to set up the reservation in two names. One was the actual person paying, the other a false name. It was not the hotel that were seeking anonymity from, but the other people at the party who actually witnessed what was going on. We kept it on a first name basis with everyone, unless you wanted to personally give your name to someone else there. The reason for the false name at reservation was so when people called to find out what room to go to, they could ask for "John Brown."
