Married couple in their late 30s, early 40s, have gotten stuck in a rut. They love each other, they still spend time together, but the spark is gone. Get up, go to work, eat, go to sleep. They might have sex on a holiday or special occasion but it’s far more common that they satisfy their own needs manually and out of sight of each other.

Then one day, while they’re getting ready to go to church-husband finds himself possessed and taking a backseat to his 18 year old self. After acclimating himself, the 18 year old sees wife changing and is floored by her, wildly declaring how he married “a total MILF.” Husband tries to get him to give up control but 18 year old goes straight up to wife and kisses her more passionately than she’s been kissed in years. Wife rebuffs his attempts to skip church for a day of fucking but she is a little surprised and flattered at the attention.

They manage to make it through the day (18 year old self either gets wife to drive or is able to pull the memories he needs from husband’s mind to make it through the day) and when they get home wife is surprised when her husband wants to spend time with her. She can’t help but tease him a bit and soon they’re fucking like it’s their honeymoon. As they finish making love, husband resumes control and after covering his wife up, leaves to process what just happened, his 18 year old self completely gone.

A week later he’s thinking about what happened as he makes dinner…as he’s contemplating; he suddenly gets smacked on the ass and his wife checks him out, admiring his “dad bod”…seems wife is now possessed by her 18 year old self.

Do they asynchronously regress only one time each? Like, he's mentally 18 for a week while she's 40, then he's back to 40; but then she goes 18 for a week, and then they're both 40 again? Or do each regress more than once, eventually coming into sync? Do they go out of sync again?

Then there's the matter of mechanism. Are gods playing tricks with the couple, or is it an agency plot, or the whim of a magician, or the spin of fate: a chance lineup of cosmic forces? Can either of the couple twiddle with the mechanism so they're in sync? Or does it just happen without explanation?

Note that youth is wasted on the young. Are they hormone-driven idiots when regressed?

For mechanism, I figure it’s not specifically stated ever but it’s a whim of fate or some god of love who wants to give them a new perspective: their younger selves think their spouse is amazing and think that their older selves are doing great as well.

I figure the spark went out not just because of routine but because they both are feeling they haven’t done that great with their lives and are letting that carry over to a sort of depression that makes them lose interest in things beyond surviving: getting to see their lives through their younger selves make them realize they’re doing okay and reignite their lust for life and each other.

Like 18 year old to wife: “now hold up; we had to share our bedroom with our sisters and brothers…and you have a house? That’s amazing! Wait, that’s our husband? He’s so cute!”

Or 18 to husband: “I mean, Thought I wouldn’t even survive senior year and I’m 38 with a hot wife, my own car and two big ass TVs? I did awesome!”

I figure they’re in between how they were in high school with their bodies tempering some of their behaviors: they’re still a lot more blunt, crass and horny, but their bodies aren’t actually hitting them with the same levels of hormones.

Finally, they aren’t complete horndogs nor are they amazing in bed: if anything the 18 year olds got tons of passion but barely any experience. Leading their mature selves to have to guide them.

While being asynchronous was the original idea, I think it would be fun if they were synchro up at times or there was even further switching (like husband and wife wind up in each other’s “backseats” and the 18 year olds are ready to start fucking, leading the husband and wife to have to guide them in how to best please their bodies

Like “okay, now curl her hair into your fist…it’s okay she’ll like it a bit rougher, just don’t yank her hair.”


While they get to feel their partner’s body’s attraction to them and know that it’s not just the 18 year old who finds them hot

For a "mechanism," you could start with Cupid, looking through his magic viewscope to check up on the couples he's brought together over the past decades. When he comes to our heroes, he sees that all the passion has gone out of their relationship! He thinks, no, no, no, this will not do at all! So he uses his godlike powers to bring the younger selves up to the present.....

Or instead of Cupid it's Loki or Coyote, who just love to mess around with humanoid people, sending this couple into hilarious confusion. The 18-year-old versions can be fairly protohuman in thinking. Do they go fuck-wild?
