In wresling terms marking out mean (and correct me if I am wrong guys) showing unwavering support for your wrestler.

Actually in wrestling terms marking out is one of those rare time when things look so astonding that for second you have a hard time seperating what is real and what you just saw as fake.

For instance I marked out during the last WCW Nitro during Ric Flairs promo ( the bastard actually made me sniffle. dayum he was great)

 i get more confused everyday by some of these odd posts.

sooo, marking out is a wrestling term? do people still watch that stuff? I know that all my 11yos wrestling stuff he got for xmas is in the bottom of the 3yos toybox...He uses them for badguys when he plays GI Joe! :D

Vasn't "Metropolis" the story vere ze term Robot vas first uzed?

I do not remember ze author's name, but he iz Czech, no?

The link works for me. Huh. Well, go to Google.com, do a search for Rotwang, Photo and you'll find 1000 sites.

"Metropolis" was created by a German director (Fritz Lang) and written by his wife.

"Robot" was a word coined by Isaac Asimov for his "I Robot" novel. But, yes, the Robot in Metropolis ("Futurama") was the first screen robot, and the movie is considered the first true sci-fi film.

From Encarta:

Robot:
Early 20th century. Via German from Czech, from robota "forced labor"; coined by Karel Capek in his play R.U.R. (Rossum's Universal Robots) (1920).

Yes, that's true. I shouldn't have said "coined", though the effect is the same. Though that playwright did take the Czech word "robotnik" (which means "servant") and apply it to a race of worker machines (called "robots") to explore the question of whether machines would ever replace humans, he in no way popularized the word as much as Asimov did.

It's akin to the question of who discovered America. The Vikings may have come first, but their journey amounted to very little historically. Columbus didn't just go to America, he enterprised the New World, and is therefore given the "discovery" credit.

No one would be using the word "robot" today if it weren't for Asimov.

Yez. I looked it up for my own enlightenment. I vazn't tryink to prove you wrong. Asimov is one of the mozt popular writers of zience fiction of the twentieth zentury. As a little babushka, I read almozt everythink he wrote. He alzo vas a prolific writer of non-fiction zience.

Now you are speaking my language

Dexter's laboratory pictures (that Nickelodeon kid scientist) -- who incidentally is on Cartoon Network as we speak.
