Apparently the Commandant is clueless of what makes a Marine stick and persevere. The modern military is a nursery and summer YMCA camp for America's pampered girls and girly-boys.

I didn't see anything in the article that appeared controversial.

"Work better with special ops troops"? No problem with that.

"Additional psychological testing prior to enlistment"? Excellent, weed out teh babby killers and other vettescum.

The re-emphasis on seaborne assault in interesting, Marines haven't had much opportunity to do that in recent decade, but that was the original purpose of the Marines.

They're perfectly capable mobile infantry troops. They're not the best choice for assymetrical warfare or occupation duty, but they can and do fight well against conventional forces
