I was looking for the Marco Rubio thread to post this and searched all the way back thru six pages of threads and couldn't find one MR oriented thread.
So here goes.

Marco Rubio: US must not demonize police officers amid ‘rare’ misconduct

Republican presidential candidate says America should be ‘vigilant’ in cases of abuse, but ‘overwhelming majority’ of officers perform well

Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio said the US should be “vigilant” in prosecuting police officers who do a bad job, but he also warned of the danger of demonizing people in law enforcement in the wake of a number of high-profile cases.

The Guardian asked Rubio during an interview on the campaign trail in Iowa if the Justice Department should require police departments nationwide to report on excessive use of force and killings by law enforcement.

Rubio did not call for a federal database of such incidents, but said they are reported “in essence” by the media.

“There’s no police incident that exists in this country that’s not documented in the press, so it wouldn’t be hard to put that together one way or another,” he said.

I know where they could start.:D

‘That’s pathetic’: Alan Grayson rips Rubio for using Syrian refugees to score political points

When asked if he thought Rubio was sincere in his intolerance toward refugees, Grayson responded with, “As far as I can tell, Marco Rubio has never been sincere in any statement that he’s made since puberty.”

The host pressed further, pointing out that fellow GOP candidates Donald Trump and Ben Carson have driven the Republican Party’s rhetoric so far to the right that it’s hard to know whether Rubio is just angling for votes or means what he says.

Grayson said the small number of voters who vote in the GOP primary are forcing candidates to play “Who’s the biggest bigot.”

:D:D:D

I worked closely with cops from 1986 thru 2005.

About half the time theyre the finest humans there are, about half the time theyre freakazoids. They come in every flavor. Most are tested and assessed before hiring but the tests and shrinks catch few of the freakazoids. I suspect cops aren't tested for malignant anxiety. That is, anxiety that's extreme and debilitating. Call it lethal panic attacks.

The best cops all seem to be patient and calm and self disciplined under fire.

The worst cops go off over nuthin.
