Yes most of these stories that I see posted are not ideas mentioned in the Quran, just cultural traditions that put a spin on the teachings of the Quran.

And you know what, the Quran is SO flexible that it can be arguably debated that it can just as easily promote the violent things they say it does as the moderates can say it promotes the peace and harmony that claim it espouses. Whose interpretation is the correct one, does anyone truly know? I know the one I HOPE to be correct, but wishing does not make it so. Did Mohammad, a conquering warrior, really intend it to be a forgiving religion or a hard and harsh one?

Yeah, something similar just happened recently in Malaysia with some nasty man-eating tigers. You get the touchy-feely tree-hugging environmentalists protesting the killing of animals that have a taste for human flesh. They put the welfare of the animals above that of fellow human beings...

Of course they automatically branded me an anti-Semite even though I have no problems with the Judaic religion, just a beef with the state of Israel. One even said I was a violent Palestinian extremist that should be bombed or something to that effect even though I am not Palestinian, a terrorist, nor violent. I was simply sating my opinion, I guess that is against the law according to the orthodoxy of their state or something, I must be a heretic to them for speaking ill of Israel.
