It is now May 2015, five years after the Great Pulse ended the old regime and plunged the world into anarchy. In the West, much of the country is still divided, but there is little fighting because the states simply keep to themselves and trade with each other when necessary.

In the East, however, the Republican Front now controls much of the Atlantic Seaboard, including: West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, DC, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. Only Georgia, Florida, and the New England states are still holding out against joining the new Republic. Ohio, Tennessee, and Kentucky, on the other hand, are wavering and openly negotiating with Col. Simon Lomax, the Chairman of the Republican Front and Commandant of its Militia.

DC was the sole penal colony, but now Manhattan has joined it. Many of the Maoist leaders from Pennsylvania (those who weren't shot already) and other anti-Lomax factions are being sent to the new prison, where the words "hard labor" mean salvaging anything still useful from the low-tech bubble, just as they do in DC. And these places are Hell on Earth. There is no air-conditioning, and the prison guards generally take out their discomfort on the inmates. Worse, the prisoners are housed in abandoned buildings, just like those in DC.

I'll be Col. Lewis Evans of the Republican Front, the colony's commandant/administrator/warden. I have carte blanche to punish these criminals and traitors.

Anyone interested in playing a guard or an inmate?
