one day a week on Friday a man is turned into a girl ever since his 18th birthday that's on a Friday the night before his 18th birthday he wished he knew what it would be like as a girl. he is now 22 and lives with his friend Kevin who knows he turns into a girl.

In my mind, every story gets one free "what if." That is, you get one big random unexplained anomaly to everyday life. That's what makes the story worth telling. After that one big "what if," though, you have to be completely logical. Otherwise you are not being fair to your readers. They accept the one big "what if" but they expect you to play by your own rules from there on out.

This seems like a very ripe "what if" to base a story on.

I bet many a boy if not everyone outright have had some variation of the thought: "oh if could I follow Becky in the girls locker room ... hey, I would have to be a girl to do that unobstructed ... hey, as a girl I could even join her in the shower!"

So, yes, I think if there should be a why, it's very very likely a stray wish come true in an unexpected way. Alternatively, figuring out the why, and optionally ideally talking control over when, could be great deal of the plot.

It could be funny if his sexual orientation remained heterosexual regardless of current gender, so he would discover that perving on girls doesn't do much for him while he us a girl himself, but the memories remain and can be reused at a later point he got his dick back. Having hots for guys while with a pussy might be even weirder to deal with. While torturous at first, if he takes his lessons he may become great and attentive lover quick.

Another aspect worth thinking about, how far the magic of his temporary gender flip goes? Do everyone around frictionlessly accept his change, or has he establish the female version as s separate personality without any supernatural help? That choice creates very different stories.

Indeed, some manipulative individuals may go crazy trying to hook the two up.

Or alternatively, if someone spy out that they apparently do cohabitate, but the girl is out just one day a week, it may trigger some rather dark fantasies about what is going on behind closed doors.

Sure, both assume the two person approach, where the girl version arrives as newcomer and has to establish wholly separate personhood with brand new relationships. Of course, that's the more realistic and dramatic approach, so probably the right approach.

Might be kind of comical if he were to have a very difficult period, heavy and painful cramps. Say he transforms for the first time and he's really psyched about having a wild night out while getting the female point of view, but then they kick in.

They clear up after an hour or two, so he can still go and get freaky, but now he knows what the ladies sometimes have to go through.

So, what if...

the gender swap was actually a secret experiment in social engineering with multiple subjects, none of whom was aware that they were a participant, but every Friday for several weeks they have unexpectedly found themselves inhabiting a body opposite their birth gender. Only gradually do individual subjects recognize that they are not alone in experiencing the gender swap, but once that happens the story diverges into a) descriptions of ongoing opposite sex experiences and b) the account of how the subjects try to discover the reasons for the experiment and who is behind it.

I realize this sort of highjacks the original premise, but I couldn't help myself.

Somehow, they had a subscription to National Lampoon magazine, which was super racy and perfect for a 12 year old. There was plenty of nudity and funny shit in there. This was right around the time that Animal House came out.

I distinctly remember one story was called My Vagina and I have to admit I was pretty fascinated! I didn’t understand what all that female stuff was down there. It’s about a teenage male who is transformed into a woman. The story is very dated and politically incorrect by today’s standards, and this thread inspired me to find it. I just read it for the first time in 40 years. And the author? John Hughes!
