This is terrible, it was just on the news. In a town in east texas this lady had locked her two daughters in a tool shed. Iy didn't have no heat, they used a trash can for a toilet and was afraid if they turned on the light it would start a fire and they was locked in.

We just had the coldest night of the year, temps in the 20F range with a fuckin wind-chill factor from the north pole. On one day even during the day-time it only warmed up to freezing.

They said they was locked in at 8:00 each night and only let out right before school. CPS, thats Child Protective Services in texas, unlocked the padlock and foud the girls inside. They was teenagers, like 14 and 16 I think, and this was thier fourth night to be locked up.

There is unanswered questions, like why the older girl did't tell, but her mother prolly threatened her, and it don't matter why, there is no reason.

The mother and her boyfriend was arrested and the girls are in CPS protective custody, thankfully.

The boyfriend was released on bond but the mother is still in jail. I know what that means, the police told her there is no way they could protect her outside of jail, this is texas.

All I can say is to the nosy, mindin other peoples business, person who caled CPS: GOD BLESS YOU

I'll bet that boyfriend is jumping bail as fast as he can. Many people, including me, would consider him partly, maybe even mostly, responsible for the abuse.

Some people shouldn't have children.

I am sure he is dead or running like hell. He was on the news. The bastard tried to say he didn't know who locked the girls inside the shed because he didn't go outside the house and see it with his own eyes. When the reporter person asked him how he could not go out and see what was going on and if the children was alright, he looked like he just realized something, and his evasive lies for that woman was gonna make him wind up at the wrong end of a rope.

I am sure on tomorrows news there will be some details, right now they didn't say if the girls are alright, just that they are in CPS custody, the story apparently just happened tonight.

You know, it seems like only yesterday when there was a thread about how mothers shared a link at the genetic level with their children that made them closer than men could ever be. Funny how there seem to be so many lapses in that genetic theory.

Yes, that is what I thought when I seen this story.

There is so much bad in the world, so many mean sick people that children need protected from, and here, the mother who should have protected them instead subjected them to abuse that could have killed them.

I hate to say it what with the cries of cruel and unusual punihment when an inmates 500 channel satellite tv goes out in jail, but I think this womans jail cell should be outside for four nights after she is sentenced.

It doesn't reflect on motherhood any more than a bad father reflects on fatherhood. Every person is different. Unfortunately for kids, we have nothing to deal with bad parents, other than punishing them after they hurt their children. Parents who abuse their kids and have them taken away, just have more. It's doubtful that we could ever get any sort of sterilization passed in this country (and maybe that's a good thing), but you do have a knee-jerk reaction, wishing you could do it to someone this twisted and cruel. Hopefully whatever family (or foster family) the kids wind up with will treat them better. With any luck, they won't continue the mistreatment on to their kids.

as "instinctive" as it is, it's also taught.

Baby monkeys who aren't nurtured as babies don't learn to nurture, and so are clueless when they become mothers themselves.

Humans aren't much different. :(

I have read about and heard about cases similar to this one. Usually it's the boyfriend or new husband who abuses the children, or who insists the mother mistreat them. The mother goes along to keep him around. I'm not defending her, of course, because what she has done, or allowed to happen, is indefensible.

Incidents such as are described here are not normal. Most stepparents do their best to be protective and guiding to their new charges. :D In this case, the guy is probably a thousand miles away by now, unless a mob caught up with him before he could skip out. One hopes the latter is what happened.

There are sick fucks everywhere, unfortunately. We have some old fucker who gets his jollys off by walking around his front yard butt naked every afternoon when then school bus comes by to drop off kids. And the goofy state don't have a law against it

Holy shit, I just saw that the other night on O'Reilly. He had a local mom and a cop who was explaining why they couldn't do anything about it. Someone had videotaped him walking around in a thong/speedo (ICK!!!), but they hadn't been able to catch him flashing the school kids. There was something about the guy getting arrested once for child porn too or something, I missed part of it.
