Hey there. I've been in and around these forums for a long time but I rarely post. However, I started playing rugby last year and I've really been unable to find girls who appreciate the sport or the fact that I play.

Thus this post. I've seen some odd personals on here down the years and I figured some girl on here might answer.

A bit about myself. I'm a 30 year old guy that lives in Tennessee. I have my BA (poli sci) and my MS (intelligence studies). My graduate program turned me into a bigger nerd than I already was. So, with that being said, I really enjoy reading (mostly non-fiction), and I keep up with the news pretty regularly. Also, I enjoy languages, I took French in high school and Chinese in college. I wrote my masters thesis on cognitive bias in intelligence analysis, so I'm super interested in psychology and how the mind works in general.

When I'm not nerding out and watching Brain Games or going to practice/dying on the couch after a match, I like to cook and be with my friends. I'm also the social media coordinator for my team, so I'm learning to love/work with Twitter and Instagram.

SO, if you are still reading, you must be wondering what it is I'm looking for out of this. Essentially, I'm thinking this could be a penpal/long distance friendship sort of thing, someone I could bullshit with about life and rugby. Primarily it would be nice to find a lady that also plays rugby to talk with. Don't get me wrong, I love my brother ruggers but it gets old quick. If you don't play rugby though, and you're interested, don't hesitate to respond. Just know that this sport and the things that go with it (games, practice, fitness sessions, socials) are a big part of who I am now. Apart from that, I don't have some crazy requirements of you, just a general desire to talk.

I realize this is a longshot but it never hurts to try. Hope to hear from someone!

Hey intel kid,

I'm game (for chatting). ;)

I don't know much about Rugby, but I do admire what I have seen of the sport. I even named my sisters dog after the sport--because my sister wanted her terrier to have a strong name, lol. And now the terrier fights like a Rugby mob too...maybe I should have thought a *little* longer on the name.

Anyway, I live in Tennessee. So, if we do become friends I may support you at a match in-person.
