Okay, I've been registered for a month but this is my very first post. I think I'm ready, but be gentle with me anyway.
I was watching a t.v. show last night that mentioned that there is a difference between male ejaculation and male orgasm. So now I am totally confused. Have I ever had an orgasm or have I only ejaculated? How on earth can these be separate occurences? What's the difference-if there is any?

:) Very easy to answer.

An orgasm is the sensations or feelings that you get when you cum. Ejaculation is the physical expression of orgasm. Men are as capable of multiple orgasm as women are, they just have to learn to differentiate between orgasm and ejaculation. I'll find a link for you here.

Well Killer Muffin hit it better then the Wife did... but they are both Right...

Ejaculation is when Your Penis throughs up the Jism that the Balls or Testicals Produce..

Male Orgasm, most of the times consist of Ejaculation but not always, it is the contracting of muscles in the pelvic rejion, just like women do when they have orgasms.. Most of the time women don't Ejaculate but they still have Orgasms and some times they do Ejaculate when they have one..

Oscar, sweetie, I'll be gentle with you. I am always willing to further the cause of medical science. Let's just do a little experiment. We'll find out the difference together, find out if you're capable of multiple orgasms, and come back and report. Whaddya think? ;)

Also, Doc Oliver or whoever, I had the fuzzy impression that the testicles produced the sperm, but that the rest of the seminal fluid was produced elsewhere in the groin. I could very well be wrong. Enlighten me. I love being enlightened by you. (Isn't that a Ginger Grant song? "I wanna be enlightened by you, by you and nobody else but you?" <coughs> Nevermind.)

Muffin: I like your distinction. But does that mean that it may be possible to orgasm without ejaculating? Surely though, its impossible to ejaculate without orgasming (because whenever I shoot my load I am going to get those "tingly feelings" that I love so much ... and that I am about to once again inflict upon myself *looks for a good story to aid him*).

It is possible for a guy to have an orgasm with out ejecting, and have wonderful multi orgasms like a woman, it takes practice lotes of practice. An orgasm is not the same as ejection, although they are linked. My pressing the spot under your testicles, (you feel the "tube" which joins to your balls) before you eject, it is stopping the flow, pinch hard. You will have a orgasm with out sperm. With practise you learn to use the muscles, (like pissing) to control the flow of sperm. Try clintching, making your cock, sort of jump. For a really good orgasm you have to concentrate, on waiting for the right moment, and sort of tensioning all the muscles in your body ready for final release. It is difficult when you are trying to please some one else, easier when you are pleasing your self. Enjoy the experience, I do.

woo hoo!! I see a lot of practice and experimentation in my future--hopefully the wife is as up for it as I. I'm pretty sure I've experienced an orgasm before, usually during the 2nd ejaculation of a session. The 2nd cumming is usually way more intense and mind-numbing.
And Whispersecret, I'll keep you in mind if the wife isn't willing to fufill her wifely obligations and experiment with me.

The following site goes into detail on this topic.

You are so very right, Whispersecret. The testicles produce only the sperm which do not constitute a significant portion of the ejaculate volume. The vast majority of the ejaculate (semen) is produced by the prostate gland. It is contractions of the prostate during male orgasm which produces the ejaculation.

Orgasm without ejaculation can occur in prepubescent males because the necessary hormones and possibly other biological mechanisms needed to produce semen are not present until the onset of puberty.

In the post pubescent male, I'm not sure how you would achieve one without the other since contractions of the prostate are part of the orgasmic response and that is the mechanism of ejaculation unless it were the last of numerous sequential orgasms and the prostate had not produced sufficient seminal fluid to produce a subsequent ejaculation.

Pinching off the tube (vas deferens, hence vasectomy) from the testicles to the prostate gland would theoretically prevent the ejaculate from containing sperm but practically it won't. To prevent ejaculation it would be necessary to close off the urethra (as it would to interrupt or prevent the flow of urine).

And, eric, it's ejaculation NOT ejection.

Avuncular William, you beat me to my usual appointed task of resident medical educator. You've got the it right. The testes produce the sperm and the accessory glands of the male reproductive tract, (i.e. the prostate, bulbourethral glands, and seminal vesicles) produce the bulk of the ejaculate.

However, you're only partially right about the physiology of ejaculation. Emission is the physiologic term used to describe the contraction of the smooth muscle surrounding the accessory glands, forcing the sperm and other components of the semen into the proximal urethra.

The actual expulsion of the seman (ejaculation) is actually caused by the contraction of the bulbospogiosus muscle, a cylindrical tube-shaped muscle surrounding the urethra. It's the muscle at the bottom of your penis you feel contracting when you cum.

Ejaculation requires the coordinated contraction of both of these stages in sequence and if you don't get it right, you can have retrograde ejaculation (into the bladder) and some other problems.

the smooth muscle surrounding these glands. You are so very right, Whispersecret. The testicles produce only the sperm which do not constitute a significant portion of the ejaculate volume. The vast majority of the ejaculate (semen) is produced by the prostate gland. It is contractions of the prostate during male orgasm which produces the ejaculation.

As far as the non-ejaculatory orgasm goes, I'm not sure if it's possible or not. If people many people claim to have experienced it, it's probably possible at least for some. I can't come up with any kind of physiological explanation for it, though. Maybe if one learns to come infantessimally close to the brink of ejaculation and is able to pull back while still experiencing the euphoria... I don't know.

I'll need a lovely female volunteer willing to sacrifice her body. Remember... it's for the good of science.

Don't DO that to me Slutboy, you gorgeous slut you. I can't handle getting all shivery and breathy right now, the washing machine is about to break and I would find myself wandering the aisles of the local porn shop aimlessly looking for a suitable replacement.

Um, on that note... can I watch? I know a few good stories with lots of hot sex. I can even put on some panties.

The only problem I have with multiorgasm.com is that you have to buy the book or whatever to get the information. I used to have this huge listing of psychological and biology sites that had all this info, but I can't find it. Drat.
