Male genital piercing: yes or no?

I have been following a thread about piercings by women and it piqued my interest in having my cock pierced.

I'd like to get feedback, personal experiences, positives and negatives, etc., about that from folks who have either had it done, or have been with guys who have had it done.

What was it like getting it done and did it have a positive sexual effect? I could go on listing the questions I have, but this is a sharp group of people and you surely get my drift.

Thanks

I got an apadravya around a year ago. An apadravya is a vertical peircing through the head of the penis. It goes into the top of the glans through the urethra and out through the bottom. (They can go further back, but those are generally called deep apadravyas.)

First, I'll answer the most common question: Did it hurt?

There MANY nerves/nerve endings there, so yeah, it hurt like Hell.

It bled a good bit for the next 3-4 days. (There are blood stains on my mattress, too. -_-) After the 4th day or so it didn't bleed as much, although there was still some bleeding. I wrapped it in gauze and toilet paper to pad it and to keep the blood from getting all over my clothes.

After about 2 weeks, I could finally walk without worrying about every little bump making it bleed, and could go without wrapping it.

One thing that I was worried about at first was pissing. Since urine contains a lot of salt, I thought it would burn. I had a few instances where there was a slight sting, but there was no real pain to speak of as far as pissing goes for me.

The guy who pierced me said you're not supposed to have sex or masturbate for at least 3 months. I lasted about... 2 1/2 weeks, I think. That was more pain. It wasn't as bad as getting it stabbed, but the initial orgasm hurt, and since it had been a while since my last "fix," I had a pretty big one. It was a bit swollen, so the throbbing after the orgasm hurt a lot, too. I recommend waiting for at least 2 months unless you're pretty masochistic. ;) :p

As for the sex goes, I'm still not sure. I've only been with 1 girl since I got it, and she's pretty inexperienced, so she couldn't really say if it felt different or not.

Humm, after going thru all that, makes me just wonder what the point is. Is it REALLY worth it?

Well, that's pretty much my take on the subject. I appreciate the honesty and candor, but if there was ever a testimonial that convinced me to drop an idea, this was it.
I have a gold ring that fits right behind the head of my cock and fits snugly against the glans. My wife likes me to wear it, and I think I will stick to that instead.

Not Bad At All

i had a pa and a frenum piercing. i was sore for about a day and fully functional within three days. No infection, no mess, no fuss. Just follow the aftercare directions and there should be no problems!

I love genital piercings and think they are a lot of fun!

TennesseeMe, thanks for posting the pics and letting me see an alternative. Relieved to see that there are other less extreme ways to pierce the genitals.
Are there different size rings available? And are there any direct benefits sexually other than visual for you? I mean, I have some ideas of how I'd like to employ the rings if I was with a guy that had them ;), but what's been the practical experience for you? ;)

Hi gumbie,
Pardon my ignorance, but what is a pa (penile appliance??) and I assume that when you say frenum, you mean the connection of skin, right below the head of the penis. How was the piercing positioned? I 've seen some pics where a ring circles around and out through the opening of the penis. I suppose that's a piercing of the frenum which would allow that to happen. Is that what you have had done?

How does your partner like it and how does it feel to you and him/her during sex?

Pardon all the questions, but inquiring minds...

A PA is a Prince Albert.
Have a lookat http://www.bmezine.com/pierce/09-male/index.html
There is a diagram of each piercing and stories on people's experiences. This is where my husband and I have looked for our research. We're talking about him getting a frenum ladder, as it's apparently not as painful and sounds like it would feel very interesting!

Correct!

A pa is a Prince Albert which enterd through the opening in the tip of the penis and usually exits on the under side. The frenum goes through that jucture you mentioned and if the ring is big enough, can be flipped over the head of the peins.

Both were good for attaching leashes (after healing) and both were a lot of fun! Go for it!

Hello
This post is of particular interest to me, because I'm planning on getting pierced pretty soon, myself. I had been hoping to visit a tattoo convention in Cambridge this weekend, but never got round to it. I just got back from the Wicker Man Music Festival in Dumfries and had originally planned on heading down to Cambridge when it was over. If I'd gone there, my plan was to get pierced to commemorate the visit.
So... it hasn't happened yet, but it's still going to happen. Sooner or later. And I think that the toughest element to cope with will be the "no sex or masturbation" guideline. Well, I've gone through extended periods of time without sexual contact before, so I know I can survive that. But I've never gone more than a few weeks without having a wank.
I'm also due to start a college course in holistic therapies on the 23rd of August. If I get pierced before then, then hopefully the "enhanced feeling of well-being" from regular aromatherapy and massage treatments that will be an inevitable result from the classes will help speed up the healing.
I'm planning to maybe start a new thread when I get pierced. Maybe like a diary kind of thing, documenting my experiences, discomforts and appreciations relating to the whole event. Should be fun.

recovery time

It does not take too long to enjoy sex after a piercing. i was up and running quite soon afterwards and enjoying full intercourse within a week. Just be sure you are wearing a condom to protect your piercing from other people's bodily fluids. (Well, and for your and their general safety...)

Hello
Just a quick question...
I've been most interested in getting a PA piercing, but I'm still open to persuasion. Something to enhance orgasm (for both myself and my partner) would be perfect. And something that looks good, but perhaps not too extreme. I like the idea of having a ring, specifically, because then tags can be hung from it or leads attached. Other kinky activities will no doubt present themselves in time.

Hello
Heh... oh, yes... and the question is... which piercing do you all think would best suit my needs, given the brief description I set down above?

Either

Having had both a frenum and a pa, i would say they are almost equal for the ideas you mentioned. However, one or two notes:

1) the frenum is through the loose skin on the underside of the head of your penis and is a bit more delicate. It should probably not be used for heavier things or torment.

2) a pa is much sturdier, but when your ring becomes a certain size, you will be urinating and ejaculating in two directions! But you get used to it.

That said, I would lean towards the pa for your applications. (Speaking of devious plans, heating or cooling your rings have a remarkable effect on the body...)

Oooh, thank you for the info, gumbie. :D

I really like a male piercing myself and would love for my sub to have one, but I've heard enough about bad side-effects to make me worry. So it's not something I'm going to push.

I'd like to thank everyone who has responded to this thread and given different viewpoints and clarifications. I'm not sure that I am convinced to do it yet, but at least I know what I'd like to avoid if I do.

I know that I like the look of it, guess it's just a matter of researching it more and coming to a decision. I guess the next question would be how does one find someone that will do it, and isn't it somewhat embarrassing?

Thanks

BMEZINE

Finding a qualified piercer near you can be a bit trying. Check out the link www.bmezine.com and you be able to find a list of topnotch people. Always visit a few shops, check the cleanliness, ask about whether they reuse needles or have new ones for each client, check their sterilization set-up. Respectable shops will not hesitate to provide this information. There is also a piercing organization that certifies people.

Decide if you want a male or female piercer. (Females did all of my piercings.)

Take your time. If you do not feel comfortable in the shop, leave. And it really isn't embarassing. (Piercers wear gloves to shield themselves form fluids and you from their bare hands.) Most piercers have albums of piercings they have done (with the client's permission) and you will see things that will astound and amaze you!

Relax, look around and if you get one, enjoy that new piercing!

Just a thought, but you might want to come up with a reason to do it before you decide.

Oh, I think I've already got a reason for doing it, I just have to work up the nerve to go ahead with it.

Yes they range from extremely small to way too big. Everyone wants to see them but most of the guys are afraid to ask to see them. (homophobia In Tennessee) The sex has been really great since having them put in. Some a little afraid to touch and others taking it all in.
