Was chatting to English Lady and I got to thinking about lesbian sex stories. (No, not in that way!!)
Can anyone comment on the capabilities of male gender writers in regard to lesbian scenes?
I quite fancy having a go at writing something, but am unsure about whether or not I could describe the physical aspects acurately.
I'll probably just go ahead and do something anyway, irrespective of whether I'm completely accurate in all details.
Comments?

I think you should give it a try if that's what you want to write. I write bi stories which include gay male sex scenes and I feel confident about it. As for being acccurate about the physical aspects, you don't have to be a woman to know a woman's body. I've been with girls who didn't know anything about female anatomy and guys who I could've sworn were gynocologists.

What oh miss scarlett says :D

Go for it. I've written from a male perspective before, not done any gay male sex as yet but I think i'd like to give it a go. I think i probably could do it justice.

Go with what you fancy writing...then let me see it when it's done ;) :p

Give it a shot.

Persoanlly I write exclusively lesbian smut under this persona and another. I have gotten a lot of positive feedback from women so I must be doing something right, so obviously it can be done.

Best advice I can give is read a few lesbian stories written by women and try to emulate them. Not copy, but try to get the feeling of the writing.

It can be done... or so I'm told.

Ask a lesbian to recommend something written by male that pressed her buttons.

Personally, I'm too centered in maleness to write from the female POV, never mind a lesbian. There's something always 'off' about their Voice... I'm better approaching women from an oblique angle. I think it's because it preserves my own view of the mystery in women, making the character seem more real to me.

Sincerely,
ElSol

Imagine your having sex with a woman....think about what you are doing, what gives her pleasure....then picture yourself as a woman doing this. Just make a few anatomical changes, but remember...women liked to be touched...a lot.

Read some of the Lesbian stories here and feel the mood that's been set, go inside their heads and if in doubt, there are many women here that will help you out with the writing.

Go for it and good luck. :rose:

Being bisexual helps I think, b/c I can and do often think and write about lesbian sex. I've read quite a few scenes written by men, the one thing I notice is that a lot of times the man skips the romantic aspect. Not that alot of fucking isn't good, just that for most women romance is a huge part of eroticisim

Only written one Lesbian story so far, although The Tease has a lesbian scene, sort of, in it.

Check other writer's pieces to see how it's done. I would especially recommend Colleen Thomas' stuff. A very good writer.

Abstruse was pretty much right I think. We don't think we're in a race to the finish, we love touchy, feely attention - think ears, neck, back of knees - touch all over works for us more than with a man I've found.

There's the classic on how to write Lesbian love scenes by, who else, Colleen Thomas, in the 'How to' section - follow tag 'How to write lesbian love scenes.' .

Go for it!

PS tag doesn't seem to work but the title's OK

I've tried a couple of stories from the womans POV , one i posted here.... So far the low score and the lack of comments have been disappointing... I think it was a good learning experience from the standpoint of my writing... I'm no longer afraid to switch over to the womans head if the need arises...

Just remember that if you stay to long in the womans head that the brain swelling and convoluted thinking process could do major damage  and or put you in touch with your feminine side....

Neither of which are really a bad thing... :D

Indeed.
This is one of the best I've read written by a guy, probably the best. In fact, until I cottoned-on, I actually thought Neon was a gal. ;)

Hullo honourary Lesbian. :rose:

That's probably the best way to explain it right there. I've written Bi and Lesbian scenes a number of times, a couple of which you can find in my sig line, and I really don't see what the problem would be in writing it though I'm female-genitalia-impared.

I do believe that there are men out there who write about that sort of interaction almost purely from the point of a male just wanting to see two or more women get it on, but I'm not one of those guys.

Huge Kisses for Mat (should I put that in my sig line?)

I don't know how I missed this thread until now, but I did . . .

I have two stories in the Lesbian Sex category, 'French Kissing For Girls' and 'Goody-Two-Shoes Makes A Friend'. Both have been free of any comment about my not knowing women, so I guess I did something right. There's also a girl-on-girl scene in my 'Aunt Ellen' series.

'Aunt Ellen' (and the one-off follow-up 'Laying the Ghost'), the 'Kate' series, the two 'Karen' tales (one a rewrite of the other, so don't expect two completely different) and 'Meg' are all first-person female, and seem to have been well received.

I think a man can write from the female viewpoint, and I seem to have been fairly well received in my efforts, so I may well do it again. If any of the fair sex want to comment on my efforts, feel free. Link in my sig.

Cd & Neon are good examples to show men can write good lesbian erotica. Alex dosen't count because he is so good he can write just about anything, I'm convinced ;)

The only way you will find out if you can or if you have the interest to learn how, is to try it. Broadening your horizons as an author is always worthwhile, even if you only learn from it that you rtalent dosen't lie in that particular area.

Have a go! whats the worst that can happen?

Iv'e penned a few, Ive had reasonable scores and encouraging comments from women on some of them.

If you enjoy it do it, read it and then decide if you want to inflict it upon us, you can always pull it if it bombs!
:)

What the hell, give it a shot. I have some scenes in a couple of my stories, as well as having the scenes from both the male and female perspective. I haven't been flamed for anything, yet. (Although I haven't heard anything from a lot of the writers here.)

I've never tried writing a lesbian sex scene, but I've been confused for a woman in my writing enough times that I think I can pull it off. LOL. My favorite sex scene I've ever written is between two dogs, and I've never been a dog, either.

You're gonna make me blush.

ga,

A common failing on the part of many men trying to write a lesbian sex story is lack of build-up. Guys tend to hurry to the grunting and groaning stuff. What follows is a huge oversimplification, but for a guy trying to write in that genre, IMHO it's a good idea to think of the story as a romance or a story of seduction, not a tale of conquest and copulation.

Good luck.
