I have my ideas about the difference. I would like to hear what the ladies and gentlemen have to say about the difference. Also identify the percentage of time you want to make love and the percentage you want to have sex. I think it would be interesting to see the difference between the perceptions based on gender.

I, too, enjoy both, but I normally cannot have an orgasm from making love. Maybe I haven't tried it enough? Maybe there wasn't enough foreplay to get me aroused before hand? Maybe it was because I attempted love making with a lousy partner? I don't know. At any rate, there is a difference in making love and fucking. I don't care what people think about me for this one but I'd rather have an old fashioned quickie anyday. The harder and faster, the better. I mean, even with me being a woman, am I supposed to pretend that I like candlelight, soft music and gentle carresses? Fuck that! Gimme some dark room, loud rock music and then let's have at it. Well there is a difference between love making and SEX.. alot of people have them confused...

My veiws on Sex and love making is that love making involves the feelings that you have for your significant other and Sex is the physical action of intercorse..

Making love to your partner does not mean having SEX. it is a way of telling your partner that you love them and that they are special to you.. as a freind has told me - " It is the little things that count" - meaning that the little things that you can do for your partner to make them happy and feel special is part of making love.. and YES you can "Make Love" with out "SEX"!!!! I have found, personally, that the person that you make love to has more, and better, "ORGASMS" and a more satisfying "love and SEX life" cause they feel the longing and the fulfilling of that longing from the person that they are with.. it is a very special feeling to know that some one loves you for who you are and not for the SEX that you give them..

NOW the Difference between SEX and MAKING LOVE are the FEELINGS that one person shares with another..

Sex with your partner is just the act of intercours.. and you don't really need feelings for your partner to have sex. Proof of that is S/M.. you don't really know who is under the mask, if your master is wearing a mask, or if you are blindfolded.. and you are just there for the SEX, not the Love..

I hope I didn't Offend any one. This is my View on the difference between Sex and Making Love. and if I did offend some one, please let me know so that I can try to see things from your point of view.. Thank You..

P.S. If you have to pay for SEX, then you are not Making love. You can't pay for love, it is a gift from one person to another and back again..

I've had good and bad in both. It all depends on the person, place, timing, etc.. Although it's been a long while, my most recent encounters have been just plain sex.. Mind blowing wonderful sex..

I've done both and I am here to say there is a difference. I am not saying one is better than the other or that I prefer one to the other. This is just my opinion (for the men by a man).

When you make love to a woman (not including Ezzie) you take your time on all of the places you miss while fucking but don't ignore the other's either. A woman's body is such a wonderful place to explore. Make sure that everything you do is light and playful. This includes kissing, licking, rubbing, touching & everything else. Spend time caressing their back while you nibble on their neck. Whisper how much you want them and how there smell turns you on. Tell them how they feel when you slide inside them. Unless there is something really wrong with you, you will make an emotional connection with your partner. WARNING . . . you and your partner may only experience 1 orgasm each, but it will be incredible and I grantee she will be ready to fuck (oh excuse me, I mean have sex) afterwards!

Although, sex has it's time and place....there are times I just want to go for it. But, for the most part I enjoy the act of making love. To me just the phrase says it all it's not just about sex...it's something you are "making" you are making your feelings known about each other. How much you desire and want each other.

I think making love and having sex are one and the same if you love the lady you are having sex with. You can love and fuck the one you love simultaneously or you can simply fuck a woman you barely know, just for the raw sex.

It can be a loving fuck or just fucking. All depends on the situation....

OK, so my experience with making love is very limited. I'm not even sure I've ever truly been "in love." But I would say making love is gentle, slow, soft and quiet. It's about the emotional connection. Sex, a.k.a. fucking, is entirely physical. Whatever makes you wet/hard-as-rock, baby. Whatever flicks yer Bic.

They are both great in very different ways. I don't think I could fairly state a preference.

Side note: If ya wanna fuck me, you damn well better be willing to stick around for some cuddling! But then I like to cuddle pretty much all the time. When I'm around a guy I care about, it takes a real mental effort to still my stroking, caressing hands. Some find it annoying, some love it.

I see from the answers there really are no surprises. Most everyones idea of making love or fucking (oops, having sex, lol) are what I have grown to believe. I also agree that there are people, both male and female, that prefer good old fashioned fucking to making love. There are times when I do too.

Sometimes when I'm horny I just want release. I just want to fuck. But most times I like the intimacy that goes with making love. I love the carressing and cuddling and touching and licking, etc. There are time when I would just like to lie in my lovers arms totally nude as we just gently caress each other. Usually that follows a good session of making love. I have never been into "slam-bam-thank-you-mam." And I definitely am not into "courtesy fucks." I have even been known to be horny as hell and turn down a courtesy fuck. Give me somebody that really wants me and I will show them what wanting is all about.
